Fiction and popular literature are based on three pillars, three genres - fantasy, romance and detective. The plot of the latter is built according to a clearly defined scheme, from which the author cannot deviate (unless, of course, he wants the books to be popular). So, in a detective story, there is always a crime - usually a murder, a victim (which follows logically from the previous paragraph) and a detective - charming, smart, even brilliant. The plot is crowned by the disclosure of the crime, when the reader learns the secret, and he only has to reproach himself for his ingenuity.
However, despite such genre rigidity, since the works of Edgar Allan Poe and Wilkie Collins, many varieties of detective story have appeared - historical, political, criminal. The work of the Polish writer Joanna Chmielewska witnessed the emergence of another line - the ironic one, which began to be used by writers all over the world, including Russia. A striking example of this are the books of Dontsova, in order, a list of which is partially presented in the article. The aim of the latter isanalysis of these detectives, their characters and plot moves.
Biography
Who doesn't know: the famous writer Daria Dontsova, whose list of books looks very impressive, has a pseudonym. As a matter of fact, the mentioned name and surname are literary pseudonyms. The real name of the writer is Agrippina Dontsova (by her husband), nee Vasilyeva.
The parents of the future author of best-selling detectives were, as they say, creative intelligentsia. Daria's father (or Agrippina, as you prefer) wrote novels, and her mother worked as a director at the Mosconcert. Thanks to this origin, Dontsova, while still a twelve-year-old girl, went to the Federal Republic of Germany, where Vasiliev's book was published. From abroad, she brought a lot of detective stories that awakened a love for this genre. Moreover, the language barrier was not an obstacle: in childhood, two governesses were assigned to Agrippina. Both were desperately bad at Russian, but they were able to teach the girl foreign languages - French and German.
Dontsova's books in order: list
In 1998, Darya was diagnosed with breast cancer. Apparently, a serious illness pushed the woman to realize what she really wants from life. Or awakened deeply hidden creative resources. Be that as it may, Daria was discharged from the hospital, having five novels written. The list of Dontsova's books begins with the detective story Tough Heirs. The heroine closest to the writer appears in it - DashaVasilyeva, who lives in Lozhkino. Has a son Arkady and a daughter Masha (just like Dontsova herself, that's a coincidence, isn't it?), As well as a whole cat and dog menagerie. Once upon a time, in a past life, it seems that Dasha was an ordinary teacher at a university and was not at all going to solve terrible murders …
The series was even filmed. The viewer could enjoy such excellent detective stories as "For All the Hares", "My Husband's Wife", "This Bitter Sweet Revenge" and others. In total, the list of books about Dasha has 46 positions. Among them are the favorite of millions of readers "Smile 45-gauge", "Benefit performance of the March cat" and others.
Evlampia Romanova
After some time, the list of Dontsova's books was replenished with novels in which another detective, Evlampia Romanova, acts. It has its own detective agency, although the long-awaited daughter of a general and an opera singer should not be involved in such a "dirty" business as catching criminals. She brings up adopted children (one of them is Kirill, the son of her friend, who went to America to earn extra money). He has a large animal kennel, which includes classic pets like cats, dogs and hamsters, as well as not quite classic ones - Gertrude the toad. At the moment, 36 books have been written about Evlampia Romanova, starting with “Manicure for the Dead” and ending with “Squirrel in a Dream and in Reality”. Some of the detective novels were filmed (“Poker with a Shark”, “Viper in Syrup”, “Beloved Bastard” and some others).
Viola Tarakanova
We continue to analyze Dontsova's books in order. The list of female detectives was replenished over time with another one - Viola Tarakanova. Each of the heroines received something of her own from the writer in her autobiography. So, Wilka inherited the ability to speak German and enduring love for animals. And, of course, the incredible ability to attract crime, how can you do without it?
A lot of books have been written about Viola Tarakanova - 34. They were to the taste of readers, and therefore some of them were transferred to the television screen ("Golden Cockerel Fillet", "Devil from the Snuffbox" … you can list them all for a long time).
Ivan Podushkin
And here is the first (and only) male character created by Dontsova. Books in order from the series "Ivan Podushkin" have 17 positions, among them - "Diamond of muddy water", "13 misfortunes of Hercules" and other detective stories. The image of the "gentleman of the detective" reflects the idea of women about the ideal representative of the opposite sex.
Ivan is a gallant intelligent man with a slender figure and tall stature. Moreover, in addition, he is very caring: the detective is very concerned about his mother, who, in her far beyond … considers herself a 35-year-old lady. And in between these innocent fantasies, she loves to torment her son with screams and constant attempts to woo him another dubious bride. Podushkin, by the way, has no luck with women. Some even consider him a representative of sexual minorities, not knowing that behind an intelligent face lies a true conqueror of women's hearts.
Tatiana Sergeeva
Daria Dontsova expands the list of books written by her, but meanwhilea new character shimmers on the horizon. The image of Tatyana Sergeeva, a former teacher of Russian language and literature, was built on the principle of contrast. Apparently, the writer decided: the books of Daria Dontsova should acquire a heroine who cannot in any way be suspected of resembling the author. And it worked out: the dark-haired plump Tatyana is nothing like her creator.
Stepanida Kozlova
Another character who has lived in Dontsova's books. In order of the list compiled, she ranks last. A young girl (a fourth-year student at the institute) is brought together with the rest of the heroines by her love for literature - this time domestic. And, perhaps, she would have gone to work in her speci alty at school, if not for employment as a model …
Other
In addition to detectives, Daria wrote recipes and autobiographies. As is often the case, she was repeatedly accused of plagiarism. There were excerpts on the Internet from which the writer allegedly drew inspiration for her works in the most impudent way. Well, being accused of plagiarism is also proof of fame, albeit an unpleasant one.
