Biography

Anna Kashfi was born in 1934 in the Indian city of Chakradhapur. Her parents were English, although Kashfi herself later claimed that her father was Hindu. The childhood of the future actress passed in Calcutta. When the girl was 13, her family moved to Wales. While studying at school, Anna worked as a waitress and a saleswoman. At the age of 17, she moved to London, where she worked as a model for a while.

Movie roles

In 1955, Anna moved to the United States, hoping to make an acting career. A girl with an exotic appearance attracted the attention of many producers: already in 1956, Kashfi received her first role in a feature film - the role of an Indian woman in the drama "Mountain". The film was not well received and did not do well at the box office.

In 1957, the actress played the female lead indrama "Battle Hymn", dedicated to the war between North and South Korea. The film did well at the box office and was enjoyed by most viewers.

Anna Kashfi's next project was the adventure film "Desperate Cowboy", based on the autobiographical novel by Frank Harris. The film did not become a box office hit, but the critics liked it.

The fourth and last feature film with Anna Kashfi was the drama Night of the Quarter Moon. In the center of the plot of the tape is a young man who finds himself in a difficult situation: he is in love with a girl, but the family does not accept his chosen one, since she is half Indian. Critics did not like the film at all - they found it offensive and meaningless.

TV career

In 1959, the actress first appeared on television, playing a small role in the comedy series Adventures in Paradise.

In 1960, Anna Kashfi appeared on screen for the last time. She made cameo appearances in the westerns The Deputy and Bronco. Due to alcohol addiction, Kashfi had to leave his acting career.

Private life

In 1957, Anna married Marlon Brando, whom she had met a year earlier. In 1958, the couple had a son, who was named Christian Davy. The marriage did not last long - already in 1959 the couple divorced. Thanks to his connections, Marlon Brando got custody of his son, so Anna rarely saw him.
