First of all, perhaps, it is worth mentioning the adaptation of a series of stories and short stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson" consists of several films, the most famous of which was "The Hound of the Baskervilles".

Another famous film adaptation is the Soviet detective "The meeting place cannot be changed." The film is based on the novel by the Weiner brothers "Era of Mercy" and tells the story of investigators Zheglov and Sharapov, who are investigating a number of crimes related to the activities of the Black Cat gang. There is everything here: a tense plot, intrigue, shootouts, and a love line - so the viewer will not be bored.

“Vertical Racing” is a Soviet detective story (also, by the way, a film adaptation of the Weiners), released on the screen in 1982. This picture, the main place in which is given to the psychological component (the confrontation between the employee of the MUR and the thief-recidivist), will appeal to fans of a slowly developing plot. The main roles in the film were played by Myagkov and Gaft.

Among the film versions of the Strugatsky brothers' novels, the most famous film is Stalker. However, these authors wrote not only pure fiction. So, in 1979, the painting “Hotel“At the Dead Climber”was released, based on one of their works. This Soviet detective will tell you the story of a mysterious hotel where an inspector arrives on an urgent call. On the spot, however, he discovers nothing and is about to leave, but his plans are changed by an avalanche. After some time, the inspector discovers that one of the guests is dead.

In 1974, the film "Purely English Murder" was released, in which the talented Alexei Batalov played the main role. The picture is really saturated with the atmosphere of old Britain. In order to celebrate Christmas, close friends and relatives come to the castle to Lord Warbeck. In the midst of the holiday, Robert, the son of the owner, dies. Dr. Bottwink takes over.

Another old Soviet detective - "Woman in White" 1981 release. Youngartist W alter Hartright gets a job as an art teacher in a rich house. There he falls in love with a young girl, but soon she marries Percival Glyde not for love, but at the behest of her dead father. It soon becomes clear that the newly-made husband is hiding something. W alter is trying to figure out his dastardly plans. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Wilkie Collins, who is rightfully considered the founder of the detective genre.
