Flamingos are amazing birds that are found in nature. Similar to herons and storks, they still have distinctive features that are not inherent in any other bird on the planet. Firstly, this is an unusual color of feathers, and secondly, the beak. It is curved, large and, in all likelihood, very powerful. Today we will plunge into the world of creativity and learn how to draw a flamingo. And in order for everything to turn out in the best possible way, it will not take so much: a good attitude, a bit of patience, concentration, a simple pencil and a piece of paper.

Planning

In today's flamingo lesson we will draw a full sheet. To do this, the paper should be placed vertically. Well, now let's start creating directly:

1. In the upper right corner of the sheet, mark the place for the future head of the flamingo. At the same time, do not forget that in no case should it be made large, otherwise it will not work to draw a flamingo like a real one. We trydraw a neat small oval, leaving enough space on the side for the bird's beak. By the way, the oval should be drawn as if it were lying on its long side. Then, parallel to it, we will depict a similar figure, but much larger.
2. Let's proceed to the next step, namely, we begin to draw the body of a flamingo. Below from the first sketch, almost in the center of the sheet, you also need to draw an oval, which will later turn into the body of a flamingo. We do not lose sight of the fact that the figure should be large enough, because in a real bird this part of the body is the most voluminous.

How to draw a flamingo step by step

Flamingos are not like other storks, they have features that should be paid attention to.

In order to draw a flamingo like a living one, that is, to repeat the smooth outlines of its graceful curves as accurately as possible, you should once again carefully look at the very first photo presented in the article. Pay attention to the long neck of the bird, and now try to transfer what you see onto a piece of paper as accurately as possible. We connect the upper oval with the lower one with a smooth curved line, and draw exactly the same one parallel to it. If everything is done correctly, then the flamingo's neck is ready.

The final step in this step will be the image of the legs of the bird. They are long with knees bent in an unusual direction. Outline their outlines on the basis that the legs should take up as much space on the sheet as the head, neck and torso occupy.

Now let's start drawing the bird's beak. The beak of a flamingo is unusual. Let's try to portray it correctly. To draw a flamingo with a pencil, like a professional artist, you need to carefully approach this part of the drawing, because the pink beauty has a really special beak. It is a cross between a parrot "nose" and a toucan's beak. The main distinguishing feature is the downward bend.

We draw the wing along the bottom of a large oval smoothly extending beyond its contour in the area of the bird's tail.

Next, draw the eye. Remember, flamingos have small eyes.

Finishing the drawing

Now that most of the work on the drawing has already been done, there is little left to do. You just need to slightly modify the resulting masterpiece. Let's get started:

1. Let's start with the legs of the flamingo. This bird has membranes between the fingers, so we clearly draw three fingers and connect them at the top with arcuate lines, curved downwards. We pay great attention to the knees of the bird. We draw them as a junction of two thin bones.
2. The whole wing is decorated with small feathers, the tips of which are directed downwards.
3. You shouldn't depict a lot of feathers on the bird's neck, because drawing them like a real flamingo still won't work. In nature, the handsome pink on this part of the body has very dense feathers and gives the impression of an absolutely flat surface.
4. It is worth drawing lines from the bird's eye to the beak in order to subsequently leave this white place notdecorated. Such a move will bring the drawn flamingo as close as possible to the original.
