It often happens that the audience is so impressed by the acting that they can no longer separate the on-screen character from the real person. A prime example of this is Michael Scofield. The films "Stained Reputation", "Another World", "Dinotopia" and others did not bring much popularity to Wentworth Miller. However, the well-known series “Escape” could do this, in which the young man played Scofield.

Prison Break

The plot centers on two brothers, Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield. The eldest, Burrows, was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit. Michael comes up with a cunning plan to save his brother and, as a result of his execution, ends up in the same prison to arrange an escape.

FOX originally planned a drama series for 2003, but due to Lost's high ratings, production had to be delayed by a year. However, "Escape" also took its share of fame - positive reviews from critics and popularity among viewerscertain adjustments. Instead of thirteen debut episodes, twenty-two episodes appeared on the screen, and a total of four seasons were filmed.

2005-2006 were the most successful years for the film crew - the series was repeatedly nominated for such prestigious awards as Golden Globe, Choice of the Year and Emmy.

Season 1

An incredibly smart and attractive man - this is how Michael Scofield appeared before the audience. Even more sympathy from the female half was added by his sense of justice, courage and brutal appearance.

In order to get his brother out of prison, a young engineer commits a fictitious bank robbery, and then refuses a lawyer and, according to the plan, ends up in a pre-scheduled correctional facility. The firm that Michael worked for was renovating an important property, so he knows quite a lot of interesting details about Fox River.

It is impossible to remember the entire amount of information even with Scofield's mental abilities, and he comes up with an original way out - to get a tattoo on which a detailed plan of the prison will be encrypted.

At the same time, an old friend of Michael and Lincoln is engaged in his own investigation. She's trying to figure out who framed Burroughs.

Season 2

Eight prisoners manage to escape the Fox River. After that, like-minded people split up to realize their plans. The dismissed chief warden decides to join the search, and Alexander Mahone, a federal agent, leads the group of "hunters". The brothers end up in Panamabut even there they are overtaken by pursuers.

Season 3

The writers' winter strike disrupted the studio's plans a bit. The filming process was actually paralyzed for 100 days, and as a result, the audience saw only thirteen episodes.

At the beginning of the season, the main characters are still in Panama. However, along with a federal agent and a former warden, Michael Scofield also ends up in the local Sona prison. His biography is full of unexpected twists - it turns out that Burroughs' son and Michael's girlfriend, Sarah Tancredi, were taken hostage. Government extortionists want one of the prisoners in the Panamanian penitentiary to escape in exchange.

Season 4

In the fourth season, Lincoln and Michael Scofield try to confront high-profile criminals. Viewers get to know new characters, one of which is Don Self, an agent of the US Department of Homeland Security.

Sarah Tancredi's "Resurrection" was a pleasant surprise for fans of the series, as many thought she died at the end of the third season.

The fourth season was shown in 2009 and was considered the last, because Scofield Michael died in the two-hour finale. Actor Wentworth Miller, however, hinted at a possible sequel to Prison Break.

Casting

As we said, the production of the series was delayed several times, so the director had enough time to select the actors. It is interesting that the main characters were found at the last moment.

Wentworth Miller joined the team a week before filming began. DominicPurcell, who played Burroughs, was confirmed within three days. The appearance of the latter caused a lot of doubts, because the swarthy and long-haired Dominic was in no way associated with Lincoln. However, the first day of filming was decisive - Purcell shaved baldly, and the resemblance of the two on-screen brothers became obvious to everyone.

The role of the prison doctor and the girlfriend of the protagonist was played by Sarah Wayne Callies. Due to disagreements with the management, the actress left the series after the second season, which greatly upset the fans. People's love and hundreds of snow-white origami cranes melted the hearts of the producers - they decided not to kill the heroine Callies and returned in the fourth season.

Our version

In 2010, the Russian Project studio presented a remake of Prison Break, which premiered on Channel One. Unfortunately, the success of the original series could not be repeated, so filming lasted only two seasons.

Story lines and dialogues were almost completely copied, but a small part was still changed. For example, Michael Scofield rescued an older brother who was on death row. There is a moratorium in Russia, but according to the plot, after the murder of a high-ranking official, the State Duma passes a law that lifts the moratorium on the death pen alty under the articles "terrorism" and "pedophilia".
