The world that the artist Andriyaka Sergey Nikolaevich sees and captures is amazing. These are rural and urban landscapes, still lifes. They amaze with the freshness of perception of familiar, familiar objects, which, under the artist's brush, acquire poetry, lyricism and a special charm. First, consider one unusual still life.
In the magical world of ancient knowledge
Before us appeared two dilapidated, many times read books, which repeatedly leafed through the hands of many readers. They pondered the meaning of what the sages wrote.
So now someone has left the books open in the most interesting places and is trying to think over what they have read while moving away. The candle remained burning, soon the seeker of knowledge will return to them and begin to think again about what their authors wanted to say. The reader stayed up long after midnight. Striking is not only the technical skill with which the pages and book covers are drawn, the brass of the candlestick, the softness of the velvet tablecloth with which the table is casually laid, but, mainly, the warm golden brown color, the play of light onvelvety surface and deep lilac-pink colors that fill the right side of the picture. Their highlights move to a dark background and connect the two halves of the painting by Sergei Andriyaka.
Short biography of the artist
Sergey Andriyaka was born in 1958. His first teacher was Father Nikolai Ivanovich. He graduated from school and art institute. Surikov, mastered all the technical capabilities of the profession, but at some point he realized that watercolor can do anything. Its technical characteristics are incomparable with modern oil paints, the composition of which is very poor. In St. Petersburg, watercolors are made by hand, according to recipes that have been preserved for at least two hundred years. Therefore, the paintings of Sergei Andriyaka will be preserved for a very long time.
Six children were born in his big family. Anna, the eldest, is engaged in design, son Fedor is in economics and technology. Lisa is 17 years old and is studying, 12-year-old Sonya has not yet shown any inclinations, but the youngest, Masha, spends hours drawing and sculpting.
Sergey Andriyaka has many awards, he has held over five hundred solo exhibitions. He also takes part in international exhibitions that take place on all continents of the earth. Paintings by Sergei Andriyaka are in private collections and museums around the world. Let's see the Russian landscape.
Winter in the city
The artist makes his works both from nature and from memory. Usually the paintings of Sergei Andriyaka are painted without a preliminary drawing in pencil, so hardhis hand and his memory is so tenacious. The witchcraft of the Russian winter, which covered the cozy mansion behind the figured fence with snow, we see in the urban landscape. The transitions from white snow to the grayish-golden scale of the house and its openwork fence are very subtle. Magnificently low sky, on which no clouds are visible, but which is about to shower the earth with fresh white flakes. This is not a mechanical photograph, but the energy of the artist, transferred to his work. A fleeting state is conveyed here, which in a few hours in life, perhaps, will no longer be.
Andriyaka: watercolor school
In 1999, S. Andriyaka opened a public watercolor school. There are few students in it, but they are all taught to draw not on wet paper, as is most often done, but in layers. There is a staff of teachers whose workshops are located next to the classrooms. Why does such a successful artist as Andriyaka need a watercolor school? He himself believes that the most important thing in his life is teaching. In order to spread such a complex art as multi-layered watercolor, applied classes have been created at the school. They teach painting on porcelain, miniature enamel, a combination of watercolor and engraving. The school has a museum and exhibition center. It shows the work of students and their teachers. Since the school has established itself as an educational institution, and people come to study there, S. Andriyaka did not stop at it, but also created the Academy of Watercolors. She crowns the school as a higher art education. Teaching, just like in school, is handed down from hand to hand. The teacher gives the student all the experience that he has.
Autumn Landscape
Now we offer to admire the delightful autumn day, which was written by S. Andriyaka. The colorful gamut of the picture perfectly conveys the gradual withering of nature before winter. The greenery on the bushes is still preserved, the grass is still green, but they are already “eaten up” by low-lying fogs.
The main charm and compositional center of the picture are tall, sky-high trees, from which the wind has not yet blown golden leaves.
Why S. Andriyaka's school was recognized
For seventeen years of work, up to five thousand exhibitions have been held in it. In the school of watercolors, the permanent exhibition contains works that were painted by Sergey Andriyaka. The exhibition is open all days of the week except Mondays and Tuesdays. At the exhibitions you can see the paintings of contemporary artists and painters of past centuries. "The Magic of Watercolor" can be visited with the help of an audio guide.
