The strongest pirate in Gintama is Kamui

Kamui in Gintama is the leader of Harusame's 7th Division. His parents are Kooki and Umibozu, and his sister is Kagura, one of the main characters in the anime. He has a very aggressive disposition and an ardent desire to kill his father.

Appearance

In the Gintama anime, Yato Kamui has blue eyes, unlike in the manga, where his eyes are purple. His hair is red, like his sister's. Their length reaches the waist, and they are always tied in a braid. One of the strands of his hair always sticks out at the top of his head.

He practices the martial arts of his race and is always dressed in the traditional dress of his nation, a black top with elbow-length sleeves and a white zipper in front and wrapping to the right. He also wears gray trousers that reach to the middle of his calf.

As with all yato in the Gintama anime, Kamui has very fair skin. His body is well developed, as a real space pirate and assassin should be, and is distinguished by powerful and flexible muscles. The smile almost never leaves his face, even when he sheds a lot of enemy blood. As he himself claims, thus he showsrespect for your opponents, sending them to the afterlife with a smile. He also states that every being deserves peace before facing death.

Girls find Kamui in Gintama very attractive. This is noticeable whenever he is shown strolling the streets of Yeshiwara.

Character

Only at first glance, Kamui in "Gintama" may seem like a cheerful and sweet guy. His appearance is extremely deceiving. Behind such a sweet and harmless smile lies a real monster that lives for the sake of battles and the blood of its enemies. The meaning of his life is to become the strongest being in the entire universe.

Kamui is a representative of the Yato race - the strongest mercenaries in the entire universe. He does not like weaklings and always tries to find an opponent equal or superior in strength to him. He is convinced that the Yato race should always be on the battlefield. This is one of his main disagreements with Hosen, who has been living in Yeshiwar for a long time as its ruler. In addition, he believes that emotional ties between family members are only a sign of weakness.

However, according to Umibozu, the guy wasn't always so violent. He used to be a loving boy, taking care of his family first and foremost and constantly hiding his hands in his pockets so as not to show his injuries. He did not want his ailing mother to worry about him, because she was bedridden and unable to do household chores. It was Kamui who handled the affairs for her, constantly protectinghis little sister.

However, Kamui grew up and became a sadist. His aggression is constantly shown during battles, in particular when dueling with Hosen, Sougo, as well as during his fierce fight against his sister.

As seen in subsequent arcs, Kamui has a huge appetite like his little sister, however he is still the biggest eater in the entire anime.

Kamui's Story

The head of their family is Umibozu, the strongest living mercenary in the universe.

As a child, Kamui joins Harusama, because with his strength and tenacity he managed to impress Hosen himself. However, several years later, Hosen decides to stay at Yeshiwara. He passed the title of captain of the seventh division to his talented student. The meeting with Abuto happened before Kamui became a member of the space pirates.

In Gintama, Kamui also assumed the title of the new Night King after Hosen died at the hands of Gintoki during the Yeshiwara Arc. Samurai interested Kamui, and he decided to save his life in this way, so that one day he would face him in battle.

Later, Kamui had a conflict with Admiral Aobu, who decided to kill him by destroying the Seventh Division in order to stabilize the situation in Harusame. Nevertheless, Kamui enlists the support of Shinsuke, who helps not only to avoid certain death, but also to counterattack opponents. As a result, most of Harusame's Twelve Captains were defeated, and Kamui became the Idiot Admiral, as he called himself.

Relationship withsister

In Gintama, Kagura and Kamui are sister and brother. Kamui took care of her when she was little, as her mother was always sick, and Umibozu was often on other planets for work. He claims to see his sister as nothing but a crybaby and has repeatedly tried to kill her. Kamui told his sister that he was not interested in weaklings like her. His opinion changed after the events in chapter 521 of the manga, in which Kamui acknowledges his sister's abilities.
