Claude Monet was born in Paris, and then his five-year-old child was transported to Normandy. The father was in the grocery business and wanted his son to have his own business. However, when a person sees color and line and succeeds in depicting them, no other speci alty simply can exist in his life. Its whole essence is captured by lines and colors.

So it was with Monet. Previously, artists worked mostly in workshops. At the age of 16, the young painter goes out into the air and begins to learn to paint landscapes in nature. Later, he deliberately creates a canvas that he calls “Breakfast on the Grass.”

This is just the beginning of a long journey of the artist's search, not yet reflecting a much later created style that will have many imitators. In the meantime, this is a charming genre scene that perfectly conveys the play of the sun. The canvas enlivens the foliage of trees, glaring on the clothes of ladies and their gentlemen, on tablecloths, on fruits and vegetables. It is the light that is the dominant, it is its play and shadows that create the impression of joy and peace. Goals will gradually change, and,hence Monet's paintings.

But again, this is not yet the artist that is known and appreciated now. Monet's paintings are the national pride of France.

Finding the way

The painting "Walk" is already a noticeable movement of Monet in search of a new style.

A light wind, caught in the moment, tossed the young woman's airy muslin scarf and fluffy skirts. Her light dress is the color of the clouds, and her umbrella is the color of the grass.

Enjoying life

By buying a house in Giverny, the artist became interested in gardening. He had an amazing garden and a pond in which he planted nymphs. Now it is a constant source of inspiration. More and more Monet's paintings are written here.

Simply amazing is this juicy emerald green of the trees, which is reflected in the lake. She enters the water with bluish-green colors, enhancing the pink spots of water lilies.
