Andrey Chivurin is well known to any KVN fan. After "service" in the rank of captain of the famous KVN team, he became the editor of the Major League for seventeen years, but never moved to the Russian capital. This story is about how a senior lieutenant of the Air Force managed to become the leader of the Kharkiv KVN team of KhAI and forever link his life with humor, while earning the honorary title of "humor orderly".

His life began in Dresden on May 9, 1964. Of course, such a vivid combination of birth circumstances could not but be reflected in the form of some worldly victories. Having successfully completed the childhood period (secondary school in the city of Uman), in 1981 he decides to become a student at the Kharkov Aviation Institute (KhAI), and at the same time a member of the KVN team. But the first attempt ended in failure. After that, for about six months, he was one of the employees of the design bureau of the Strategic Missile Forces Plant (Department of his native KhAI).

Army service (aircraft technician) Andrei Petrovich Chivurin began in 1987 in the Belarusian military district. After serving as a senior lieutenant for two years, a year after returning home, he became the captain of the KVN KhAI team.

Currently, Chivurin is also a happy grandfather raising his beloved granddaughter. He also loves diving and traveling.

KhAI in KVN

Officially it is believed that the team was formed on April 4, 1990. Two years later, the guys became full-fledged participants in the KiViN-1992 festival and immediately went to the Higher League of KVN. After the guys won the first place in the quarter-finals, they still had to lose the championship to the “YerMI” team in the semi-finals, and in the end they did not go further. However, when they went on stage to congratulate the champions, the “Khaevites” received a prize with the catchy title “For Integrity.”

The next time Andrei Chivurin and his team took part in the game already in 1994. This time the team got the opportunity to compete in the quarterfinals, where they took first place. But in the final, the YerMI team again took the lead, and the Khayovites took second place.

A year has passed. Again the final. This time, having reached the final, KhAI lost 0.1 points to the "Squadron of Hussars", but the jury members decided not to give the scores and awarded the teams a draw. And already in 1996, Andrey Chivurin and his team won the summer cup. Participating in the games until 2000, the team won great love from the audience, and many jokes, as they say, "went to the people"(which is worth the famous "Song of the bully" performed by Chivurin). Andrey has also been the editor of the Major League of KVN since 1996.

League of Laughter

Being an active person by nature, Chivurin, together with Naum Barulya (also the editor of KVN), decide to create their own, Ukrainian, springboard for young and talented comedians. According to Andrei Petrovich himself, it was thanks to effective contact with the Kvartal 95 studio that several popular sitcoms were born. But the most sensational project was the "League of Laughter" - a kind of alternative to KVN.

However, it all started with rejections. At first, without intelligibly explaining anything, the channels refused to create a television version of the Ukrainian KVN. And in order not to lose the potential of young humorous teams in vain, Chivurin and Barulya begin cooperation with the Kvartal 95 studio, as a result of which the Ukrainian championship in humor with the aforementioned name, which the Kvartalovtsy came up with, was born.

But another name is not everything. It was decided to change the format. The bottom line is this: young teams go on stage and try to interest the judges in themselves, who, in turn, if they like the team, get up from their seats. If several judges stand up, then the team decides for itself who will become its coach and will play with it at the next games. The number of people in the team does not matter (for example, a significant part of the performance of the “Transparent Racer” team is a conversation with the audience in a voice-over, and only then a participant enters the stage, whose textbased on pure improvisation). The language in which the team will perform is also not important - more than half of the teams communicate with the audience in Russian, and there is even one (“We rest together”), which managed to make surzhik a hallmark of their numbers…

This project turned out to be very successful and with the beginning of each new season it is gaining an increasing number of participants and fans. And also, in addition to the main games of the season, there were competitions for the Summer and Winter Cups.

Television career

"Lit up" Andrey Chivurin on TV screens and as a screenwriter. He was a co-author of the script for the famous "Soldiers" (from the fourth to the fourteenth seasons). Also from under his pen came out: “Ensign Shmatko”, “Sea Soul”, “Kolobkov. A real colonel!”, “Smalkov. Double blackmail”, “Fog”, “Fog 2”, “Builder”, “Caution: children!” as well as "Life after life" … Moreover, the series, as you can see, are not all comedic, which, in turn, once again proves the versatility of a talented screenwriter.

Summing up this article (but by no means under the creative and life biography), we can say that such talented and hardworking people as Andrey Chivurin will always stay afloat in their creative career. The main thing is not to stay still, but to move forward and constantly improve yourself.
