The real name of the musician is Anastas Mikoyan. Namin is a pseudonym that was formed from the name of his mother Nami. He was born in 1951. Stas's father was a military pilot, his mother was a musicologist. The artist's childhood passed on trips to the garrisons.

The boy was brought up by his mother. She introduced him to music and literature. M. Rostropovich, D. Shostakovich, A. Khachaturian, G. Sviridov, A. Schnittke and others often visited their house. Stas's first piano and harmony teacher was A. Babadzhanyan. At the insistence of his father, the boy continued the family tradition and graduated from the Suvorov Military School. It was there that he was introduced to rock music. In 1964, at the school, he created his first group.

Stas Namin is a multifaceted personality, he is not only a musician, but also a producer, photographer, composer, director, artist. Glory to him was brought by the group "Flowers" organized by him. In addition, he is the creator of the very first production center inour country. Thanks to him, many performers became famous.

The very first music festivals in Russia were held by Stas Namin. He organized private enterprises, a design studio, a concert and sports agency, a television company, a radio station, clubs, restaurants, a record company, a trading company, a publishing house, a lamp technology laboratory, and educational projects. The Flowers group was created by Stas Namin in 1969. At that time he was a 1st year student at the Institute of Foreign Languages. At first, the group performed at school and student evenings. The repertoire consisted of foreign compositions. The first own songs of the "Flowers" group are "Flowers Have Eyes", "My Star" and "Don't". In 1973 they were recorded and put on sale. Unexpectedly for everyone, the “Flowers” records sold seven million copies. In 1974, the group was invited to perform from the Moscow Philharmonic. "Flowers" went on tour, gave 3 concerts a day. The Philharmonic made a lot of money from the group. Due to too much work between the musicians and the administration there was a conflict. In 1975, "Flowers" was accused of promoting Western ideology and banned by the Ministry of Culture. Despite this, in 1976 Stas Namin managed to reassemble the group. In 1986, the Flowers world tour took place. After him, the group's activities were suspended for 10 years.

In 1999, the group "Flowers" was again assembled by its leader and creator S. Namin. Two years later, the musicians gave a concert in honor of their 30th birthday. The artists of the current composition and those who worked in the ensemble earlier participated in it. In 2009, the group "Flowers" celebrated 40 years of its existence. To this event, the musicians timed the recording of the album “Back to the USSR”, which included the best songs. A year later, in honor of the 40th anniversary, a group concert was organized. After that, several more albums were released. The songs of the group "Flowers" are known and loved by listeners of different generations. In 2014, concerts dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the ensemble were held in Moscow. After that, "Flowers" went on a world tour.

Alexander Nikolaevich is the most famous soloist of the Flowers group. It was he who sang the most popular songs of the ensemble: “Flowers have eyes”, “We wish you happiness”, “My clear star”, “Lullaby” and so on. He was the soloist of several VIA, but it was the Flowers group that made him famous. When the ensemble ceased to exist for 10 years, Alexander worked in a car repair shop.
