Director's biography

Rezo Gigineishvili was born in Tbilisi on March 19, 1982 in the family of a doctor and a violinist. The Gigineishvili family lived in the city until the changes in the country forced their parents to pack their things and leave their hometown, taking their children, Rezo and Tamara, away from the dangerous situation. In Moscow, the children continued their studies and were drawn into a new life, although the status of refugees forced them to go through many difficult moments. But over time, the life of the Georgian family went into a rut. Rezo Gigineishvili entered VGIK at the directing department, feeling a desire to make films. Already during his studies, he shot several commercials and clips that earned recognition and clearly spoke about the talent of the younghuman.

Career

A young talented director got a job as an assistant in Ostankino, where he began his career. Then he was noticed by acquaintances who advised Fyodor Bondarchuk to give the young man a chance to practice in a big movie. The position of the second director in the filming of the film "9th Company" went to the Georgian who was starting his film career.
