But those who are really familiar with the history of a successful entrepreneur found inthe picture has many inconsistencies with the real biography of Mangano.

The picture "Joy" did not take a single "Oscar". But Jennifer Lawrence managed to try herself in a new role.

Storyline

In the film "Joy", the actors tried to tell the viewer the story of a woman who hid her inventive gift for many years, but in the end it broke out and brought her incredible success.

Joy is the main character, a resident of a provincial town. Everything in her life is boring and gray: an unsuccessful early marriage, three children on her shoulders, and even her parents to boot. The heroine Jennifer Lawrence no longer counts on anything. She's just "pulling the ropes" in a tedious and low-paid job to somehow stay afloat.

Once Joy reaches a certain limit, the cup of her patience overflows. She decides to change everything. A single mother of many children invents a number of unique items that are extremely useful in everyday life. So Joy Mangano becomes the founder of an entire business dynasty and radically changes her future destiny.

Jennifer Lawrence became famous thanks to the teen franchise The Hunger Games. Signing a highly successful contract in 2012, Lawrence played Katniss Everdeen for four years. Therefore, she did not fail to act in a very controversial comedy "My boyfriend is a psycho", while playing a girl,suffering from a mental disorder. Lawrence then landed the lead role in the biographical drama Joy.

The biographical drama "Joy", whose actors and roles caused remarkable controversy among critics, has become another project for promising Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper.

Cooper started his career at the "dream factory" rather modestly: in 99 he played the boyfriend of Kerry Bradshaw in the series "Sex and the City", a little later the actor was noted in the series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".

Basically, claims are made not to the acting, but to the work of the director. The general opinion of the critics came down tothe fact that David O. Russell failed to voice some complete thought with the help of the picture. Rather, his work is like a sketch for a film, on which more work was needed.

The actors and roles of the film "Joy" caused a mixed reaction not only from critics. The audience also could not agree on a single opinion and decide whether they like the film or not.

On the one hand, Miss Mangano's story is inspiring. On the other hand, not everyone likes Lawrence's acting: in particular, the audience complains about the stone face of the actress, which practically does not change. The director's work of O. Russell also did not please. Even avid fans of his films have noticed the obvious flaws in the plot and illogical developments. Therefore, one cannot draw a single conclusion here, it is better to watch the film yourself and decide whether to leave it in your own collection or not.
