Carpet is a woven product used to insulate or decorate floors and walls. For many centuries, the carpet not only symbolized we alth, but was also considered a piece of art, since it was long and painstakingly made by hand. But to draw this subject is not so difficult. All you have to do is come up with a design and put it on paper.

Materials

In order to draw a carpet, you will need to prepare paper, an eraser, a ruler, pencils and colored pencils, gouache or watercolor. When working with paints, you need to take thick paper, as well as prepare a container with water and brushes (medium and thin).

How to draw a carpet

Carpets come in a variety of shapes and colors, from solid squares to patterned abstract shapes. Therefore, first you need to decide what kind of carpet you want to draw. The most common are rectangular products, and for example, consider them.

1. First, we make a sketch with a simple pencil and draw the outlines of the carpet in the form of an uneven rectangle.
2. Thicken the outline made by drawing one more line next to each side.
3. Inside, draw two more rectangles that follow the contour of the carpet, thicken the lines.
4. In the very center of the rectangle, draw another quadrangle, inside which we draw a pattern of several curls.
5. On both sides of the rectangle draw villi with dashes.

After the carpet is drawn, it needs to be colored. To do this, you can use both colored pencils and paints. The color of the carpet can be absolutely any.

How to draw an ornament

Many carpets have some kind of design or pattern. But how to draw a carpet with an ornament? First, think of what elements the pattern will consist of.

Most often, geometric shapes and natural elements are used for ornament. The main difficulty in drawing an ornament is that the elements of one group must be symmetrical and the same. Therefore, it is better to practice drawing complex parts of the pattern with colored pencils on a separate sheet.

Let's look at an example of how to draw a simple geometric pattern:

1. First, draw a rectangle with a simple pencil.
2. Draw a vertical line through its center. And then divide the figure into three equal elements with horizontal lines.
3. Through the center of each of these threeparts draw a faint horizontal line.
4. Inside the large rectangle, make another smaller one to make a kind of frame.
5. In this frame, along the auxiliary lines, draw three rhombuses located vertically.
6. Inside each diamond, draw two more smaller ones.
7. Now, in the corners of the inner rectangle and between the rhombuses, draw a schematic tree consisting of a vertical line and two dashes on each side.
8. Erase extra lines.
9. We make the "frame" of the carpet with the help of figures in the form of triangles. Draw the first triangle from the bottom up. We place the second one side by side, but with the top down, and so we alternate these figures along the entire "frame" of the carpet. Put a dot in the center of each triangle.
10. Adding fluff around the edges of the carpet.

Decorate the drawn ornament with paints or colored pencils.
