Legendary Russian pop singer Edita Piekha, whose biography will be briefly described in the article, appears extremely rarely on modern radio air, and her songs have not taken a leading position in music ratings for a long time. Despite this, the compositions performed by her are still remembered and loved not only in our country, but throughout the world.
Biography of Edita Piekha: the childhood of the artist
Do you know what is remarkable about the date July 31, 1937? On this day, Edita Stanislavovna Piekha was born. She was born into a family of Poles living at that time in France, in a mining town called Noyelles-sous-Lance. Parents named their daughter after her grandmother Mary - Edith Marie. The girl's father, Stanislav Piekha, went to the front in 1941 and did not return. Mom got married a second time and moved to Poland at the end of the war. Edita in France studied well at school, but she did not know the Polish language at all, therefore, after moving, she was a loser for the first time. Only by the seventh year of study did she manage to catch up with the excellent students inclassroom.
The girl already at school began to show vocal abilities and first applied them in the children's choir. In France, the girl studied at the Pedagogical Lyceum, then came to Russia to enter the Leningrad University in the Department of Psychology. At the university, she also showed herself as a singer, taking part in all student concerts. When Edita was 19 years old, she was invited to the Druzhba VIA, which was led by Bronevitsky A. (later he became her husband).
Biography of Edita Piekha: singer's career
Being a soloist of Druzhba, Edita Piekha toured many countries: she performed on the stages of Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Poland, the USA, Mongolia, Austria, etc. She performed songs by great composers such as Petrov A. P., Frenkel Ya. A., Pakhmutova A. N., Flyarkovsky A. G., Feltsman O. B. Edita Piekha worked in the Bronevitsky Ensemble for more than twenty years. She did not leave him even in the most difficult moments, when in 1959 the team was forbidden to perform and the leader was forced to disband it; when in the seventies all members of the team decided to leave, and Bronevitsky had to create a new "Friendship"; when the ensemble was credited with promoting bourgeois ideology, and Edita herself was called a tavern singer.

In 1976, the singer created her own ensemble, with which she performed in more than twenty countries around the world, released ten discs, which sold out innumerable copies. Edita Stanislavovna also performed for astronauts and onfactories, and in hospitals in Afghanistan, and for reindeer herders in Chukotka. The singer is fluent in four languages and sings in ten.
Biography of Edita Piekha: personal life of the artist
Much more is known about the singer's creative life than about her personal life. As mentioned above, her first husband was her first leader, A. Bronevitsky, from whom in 1961 she had a girl, Ilona. The daughter of Edita Piekha followed in her footsteps and became an artist. More than 20 years of their life together can hardly be called happy, since Edita Stanislavovna's husband regularly cheated on her. As a result, the singer could not stand it and she herself started an affair with Shestakov Gennady (a KGB colonel) and soon married him. The second husband also did not make her happy. He often drank, which caused the breakup of the marriage. The singer got married for the third time (for journalist Polyakov Vladimir), but also not for long. Edita herself says that the main people in her life are her daughter and grandchildren, and she was truly happy only while performing on stage.
