The Big Bang Theory is a ratings giant on CBS, one of the most popular US TV sitcoms, second only to NCIS in viewership. The pilot episode was shown in September 2007, since then 12 seasons have aired. Its planned completion was recently announced, with the project closing in May 2019. The show has mixed reviews, while its rating is quite high - IMDb: 8.20.

Sitcom about four nerds and a blonde

From the very first episode, the sitcom has been a hot topic of controversy. Some critics consider the project incorrect, dropping the authority of fundamental science. But the creators ignore the attacks, because the rating of the show is the highest and only grows over the years. And the actors who play the main roles regularly receive all kinds of cinematic awards. For example, actor Jim Parsons, who plays the most ridiculous and quirky character of Sheldon Cooper, has already received three Emmys. Moreover, judging by the description of the seasons, “The Big Bang Theory” over the years began to treat its characters more respectfully, the authors found a good balance between public and “geeky” humor.

1-3 seasons

During the first three seasons, the viewer watched the development of relationships between the main characters. However, seasons 4 and 5 are no less hilarious than the previous ones. The main characters will boil noodles with a laser, try to reason with them how not to look like an idiot on a date with a girl. Each of the four scientists will get a girlfriend, and in the final episode of the fifth season, a wedding will take place. Of the most memorable events of the 9th season of the show, one can single out the appearance in one of the episodes of a realinventor and investor, successful entrepreneur and engineer Elon Musk. He makes a cameo appearance in a restaurant kitchen in a chef's apron, along with a kitchen worker, eating someone's half-bitten pumpkin pie.

By the ninth season, the series had flourished, reached its peak and began to gradually fade. Therefore, the tenth season was regarded by many critics as a kind of singularity point, after which the show will either be closed or get a "second wind".
