The musical theater on Bagrationovskaya is one of the youngest. It exists only 4 years. Today his repertoire includes five interesting, bright and large-scale musical performances.

About the theater

The Musical Theater on Bagrationovskaya began its career in 2012. His first production - "Times do not choose." The libretto for this musical was written by A. Kortnev and M. Shvydkiy. This production is still on the stage of the theater.

In 2012, the second performance was presented. It's called "The Spoilers". The authors of music and libretto are A. Shavrin and M. Leonidov. The production closed in December 2015.

In 2013, the repertoire was replenished with the revue “Life is beautiful!”. In the performance you can hear rock, dance hits, patriotic songs of the Soviet era, romances, arias from operettas and lyrical ballads.

In the 2014-2015 season, the Moscow Musical Theater pleased the audience with a new production. This is a fairy tale "All about Cinderella". The performance became the hallmark of the theater and even received the "Golden Mask".

This season premiered the rock opera Crime and Punishment. This event was timed to coincide with the 150th anniversary ofthis novel. The music for the performance was written by Eduard Artemyev. Directed by Andrey Konchalovsky.

In addition, the theater receives guests on its stage. Tours of various troupes, festivals, children's Christmas trees, charity events and so on take place here.

Building

The Moscow Musical Theater is located in the legendary Filevsky Park. The building in which it functions used to belong to the Gorbunov Palace of Culture. It was built back in 1938. Today the building is a monument of Soviet architecture. It has an auditorium with 1200 seats. Over the years, troupes from the best theaters of our country have performed here, festivals, creative meetings and concerts, film screenings have been held here. The guests of the Palace of Culture were famous personalities: Mikhail Zhvanetsky, Bulat Okudzhava, Konstantin Raikin, Mikhail Ulyanov, Gennady Khazanov, Valentin Gaft and many others.

In the 80s and 90s of the 20th century, the Palace of Culture, nicknamed "Gorbushka", was the main venue of the country, where concerts and rock music festivals were held.

The Musical Theater on Bagrationovskaya in October 2014 presented its version of the well-known fairy tale about Cinderella to the audience. The music for the production was written by Raimonds Pauls. The performance is intended for audiences aged 12 and over. The directors claim that no one has ever seen such a Cinderella as theirs. The performance of the musical theater is not a fairy tale familiar to everyone, but a story on the topic of the day about our life and about all of us. Mutual grievances, indefatigable ambitions, the desire to unleash a war just out of boredom, distrust of good people in this cruel world. This is no longer a fairy tale. There is love here, and even a little bit of politics.

In 2016, the musical "All About Cinderella" was awarded the "Golden Mask" award. It was received by actress Oksana Kostetskaya, who performed the part of the Godmother, in the Best Actress nomination.

How to get there

Getting to the theater is not difficult at all. The nearest metro station to it is "Bagrationovskaya". The musical theater is within walking distance from it. Free taxis are also provided for spectators. On any of them you can leave the theater after the performance. There are taxis going to the metro stations: "Filyovsky Park", "Bagrationovskaya", "Profsoyuznaya", "Victory Park", "Ulitsa 1905 Goda", "Universitet" and "Belorusskaya".
