Interstellar

The audience is still arguing about the realism of what is happening on the screen, although the tape is already five years old. According to the director, the film was created on the basis of real achievements and understanding of modern science.

One of the main events of the tape - a journey through the galaxies through a wormhole, was voiced by Kip Thorne in his scientific writings. To minimize mistakes, the director took a special course in astrophysics. Renowned theoretical physicist Michio Kaku and his colleague Neil Tyson were pleased with what was happening on the screen and agreed with the high rating of the film.

Christopher Nolan's sci-fi about space received a lot of accolades and many Oscar nominations, winning Best Visual Effects. It is also worth noting that stars of the first magnitude starred in the film: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain, who played the role of the daughter of the protagonist.

Alien Planet

In second place in our ranking of the best films about space is the pseudo-documentary film Pierre de Lepinoy, filmed in 2005. The project was developed by the Discovery channel, so there is no cast as such. Famous people of science were invited as experts for the main roles, among which Stephen Hawking and Michio Kaku can be especially noted.

In addition, they used to be very strict about the title format and many were unhappy with the idea of Lucas inserting isometric text at the beginning of the film.

Nevertheless, the director's idea later became an original and recognizable "chip" that he inserted into other films. Despite early criticism, the first tape immediately captivated the audience and for more than one year kept on the firstplaces in the ratings of films about space. Lucas' fantasy has become an example of how to make a quality movie. Many still enjoy watching the original trilogy.

The picture gave an excellent start to such a famous actor as Harrison Ford. Other participants - Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher - were a little less fortunate, but Star Wars was enough for world fame.

Aliens

In fourth place in our ranking of the best science fiction films about space is the tape "Aliens", filmed by James Cameron in 1986. This is a continuation of the dangerous adventures of Officer Ripley, played by actress Sigourney Weaver.

It is worth noting that the tape could have ended completely differently. The fact is that after the successful release of the first tape about hostile xenomorphs, Weaver asked for far from the most modest fee. So negotiations with the studio were tight.

The director did not want to accept Weaver's conditions and announced that he was preparing an alternative ending without Officer Ripley. This turn of events caused Sigourney to change her mind, and she agreed to sign on for a second film. But at the same time, she set certain conditions for the scenario.

Weaver asked Cameron for three things. Firstly, so that her heroine does not take up arms at all. Secondly, Ripley must make love to the Alien. Well, the third is the death of her heroine at the end of the film. Naturally, James did not fulfill any of the requirements voiced by Weaver, but in the following tapes, he took note of her wishes. 2001: A Space Odyssey

Moon 2112

The first half of the tape the viewer is immersed in the atmosphere of the film, and after the events begin to develop rapidly. The denouement of the film is very unexpected and dramatic. Many critics call the picture a fantastic documentary. Everything looks so believable there and it is very likely that such a scenario awaits us in the future.

Gravity

In seventh place in our rating of films about space is Alfonso Cuarón's tape, released in 2013. The main roles were played by eminent actors Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. The film received a thriller format and comes with an age limit of 18+.

The tape turned out good in everything. Here is a stellar tandem, and an exciting plot based on real hypotheses, and a visual component worked out to the smallest detail along with physics. This movie is only about space and about the dangers of today's astronauts.

The tape has not received any serious claims from scientists. This is largely the merit of a local consultant - astrophysicist Kevin Grezier. The latter works closely with NASA and had a hand in the creation of the Cassini-Huygens probe. It is due to its plausibility that the tape is firmly entrenched at the top of the ratings of films about space. It's also worth noting that Gravity won seven Oscars, which says a lot.

Apollo 13

Ron Howard's 1995 film is in eighth place in our rating of films about space. Starring Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton andKevin Bacon. The film is based on real events and somewhere even tries to be a documentary, but still the director interpreted some details in his own way, for the sake of an entertaining film format.

The tape tells about one of the most dramatic moments in the history of NASA, which happened with the Apollo 13 spacecraft in 1970. The film is filled with drama, where crew members are forced to quickly make difficult and dangerous decisions for the mission.

A real participant in the events, Jim Lovell, who is also the author of the script and the book version of the film, in his review said that in general, the picture was a success, but some astronauts do not look like their prototypes. Nevertheless, this did not prevent the tape from becoming spectacular and objective, and not habitually pretentious, as happens with a good half of Hollywood projects.

Europe

In ninth place in our ranking of films about space is a pseudo-scientific film about the exploration of Jupiter's moon Europa. The tape was released in 2012 thanks to the efforts of screenwriter and director Sebastian Cordero.

This is a story about the near future, when mankind left momentary problems and started exploring near space. The film tells about a group of explorers who went to Jupiter's moon in search of life. The tape keeps the viewer in suspense throughout the entire timing until the finale.

It is also worth noting that "Europe" was supervised by specialists in the field of astrobiology and astronautics. So there are no obvious mistakes in the script and on the screen. Even though the filmreceived mostly neutral reviews from a wide audience of viewers, critics liked it.

Guardians of the Galaxy

The film by James Gunn, which opens a new film epic in the Marvel universe, appealed to viewers of all ages. The tape was released in 2014 and grossed almost $800 million at the box office on a budget of $170 million. Reviews of the film from ordinary viewers were overwhelmingly positive, while critics were more restrained in their reviews.

The film tells about the adventures of five disparate personalities who, by the will of fate, became friends. Space adventures are gradually gaining momentum, and the viewer is looking forward to the denouement. Guardians of the Galaxy is purely entertaining sci-fi, but that hasn't stopped it from being nominated for several Oscars.

The main roles were played by Chris Pratt, already familiar to viewers from Jurassic Park, Zoe Saldana, former wrestler and bodybuilder Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel in the ambiguous image of a tree. The cast did an excellent job with the task, and the viewer got a good movie about space adventures.

Time of the First

This is a 2017 Russian project from director Dmitry Kiselev. The film is shot in the genre of adventure with thriller elements. The main roles were played by Evgeny Mironov, Konstantin Khabensky and Vladimir Ilyin. This tape can be called an attempt by Russian cinema to wrest the palm from the hands of the Americans.

To a certain extent, ours succeeded. Andit's good that the director was not inspired by Star Wars or Guardians of the Galaxy, but by Gravity and Apollo 13. As a result, the film turned out to be interesting and with rich scenes, as well as well-placed dialogues.

Alexey Leonov became the main consultant of the tape. In fact, this film was made about him. So there were no serious mistakes or shortcomings. At the box office, the tape showed itself not in the best way, although critics and the audience received "The First Time" very warmly, unlike other Russian "masterpieces".

This is Luc Besson's best sci-fi film with an all-star cast. The tape was released in 1997, the main roles were played by the eternally unflappable Bruce Willis, the beauty Milla Jovovich and the Oscar-winning Gary Oldman.

The film tells about an ordinary taxi driver who literally fell on an unexpected gift in the face of a pretty alien. The couple will have to save the world from universal evil and at the same time not die themselves. The space adventures of the main characters turned out to be exciting and interesting.

It is also worth noting that The Fifth Element is the most expensive European film project. The film's budget wasmore than 90 million dollars. A significant part of the money was spent on special effects, which are present at almost every turn. The Fifth Element grossed just over $250 million at the box office.

The tape was nominated for an Oscar and received a large number of flattering reviews from both professional critics and ordinary viewers. In addition, The Fifth Element made it onto Bruce Willis's Best of the Best list.

Martian

Ridley Scott's The Martian, released in 2015, closes our rating. The film really liked the audience, but it was not so enthusiastically received by critics. The fact is that the picture is full of inaccuracies and scientific errors.

For example, the laws of physics on Mars do not work the way the director shows. In addition, the design of spacecraft in terms of navigation, and common sense, raises many questions. It was these shortcomings that prevented the picture from breaking through to the top and taking its Golden Globes with the Oscars.

The film tells about the adventures of astronaut Mark Watney, left by chance alone on the Red Planet. Realizing that the next mission, when the ship arrives, to wait four years, he decides to settle down on Mars. The tape is replete with interesting scenes and beautiful views.

There are no questions about the plot and entertainment part. Ridley Scott knows how to keep the viewer at the screen. The screenplay was based on Andy Weir's The Martian. Interestingly, the writer himself does not consider his offspring worthy of the attention of the general public andposted the original book online. But the famous director made a quite suitable movie based on it, which collected a decent box office.
