Pushkin's "Boldino Autumn" is, perhaps, one of those periods when the creativity of the great Russian genius flowed like a river. Alexander Sergeevich was just preparing for the wedding with Natalya Goncharova, but after the engagement, which took place in the spring of 1830, there were some financial difficulties to solve them, the man went to Boldino. He went to the village on August 31, 1830 and planned to stay there no longer than a week, after which he would return back to his bride, but fate decreed otherwise. During his stay in Boldino, a cholera epidemic began and, due to the quarantine, the writer could not return not only to Moscow, but even to St. Petersburg.
"Boldino Autumn" by Pushkin gave the world a lot of interesting and talented works, both in prose and in verse. The village has been beneficialon Alexander Sergeevich, he liked solitude, clean air, beautiful nature. In addition, no one interfered with him, so the writer worked from early morning until night, until the muse left him. "Boldino autumn" in the life of Pushkin is considered the brightest period of his work. It was in the village that he revealed himself in many genres and created the maximum number of works in a short period of time (he stayed in Boldino for about 3 months).
Alexander Sergeevich usually woke up at 6 o'clock in the morning, took an ice-cold shower, drank coffee and wrote prose and poetry while lying on the bed. Moreover, he did it so quickly, as if he did not compose his works himself, but wrote them down from dictation. The writer himself was glad of such a creative mood and, without losing a single free minute, created masterpieces of Russian classics. Pushkin's "Boldino Autumn" turned out to be very productive, during his entire stay in the village the writer managed to create three dozen poems, write one story in octaves, 5 stories in prose, several small tragedies, 2 last chapters of "Eugene Onegin". In addition, there were many unfinished works.
Genre versatility is what distinguishes Pushkin's "Boldino autumn". Poems written during this period can be roughly divided into two categories: memories of the past and impressions of the present. There are love elegies (“Spell”), a description of nature (“Autumn”), political and philosophical works (“Hero”, “My genealogy”), genre paintings (“Demons”), epigrams (“It’s not that trouble …”). In the autumn of 1830Alexander Sergeevich created his best lyrical masterpieces.
In addition to poetic works, it should be noted stories written in prose. In Boldin, Pushkin wrote Belkin's Tales, which helped him establish himself not only as a poet, but also as a prose writer. These works were given to the writer especially easily and naturally, he created them with high spirits and unprecedented enthusiasm. Alexander Sergeevich released stories not under his own name. He brought a lot of soft irony, observation and humanity to them.
Pushkin's "Boldino Autumn" is not only the richest and brightest page in the work of the great writer, but also an example of an inexplicable creative upsurge. Alexander Sergeevich is almost the only one in the world who created a huge number of brilliant works in such a short period of time.
