If before the audience most often preferred simple films with an easy and understandable plot, now excessive simplicity and naivety in the cinema are more likely to be rejected. People are not interested in watching the development of a plot that they have already seen somewhere, and this happens quite often, because many films are shot according to a template. Such projects do not attract the attention of the audience, because, after watching the first 15 minutes, a person can already tell how it will end.
Modern world-class directors prefer to make films that have a complex and twisted plot so that the viewer can't tear himself away from the screen even for a second, and after watching the film he has a lot of new impressions. One of these directors is the British Danny Boyle. During his long and successful career, he made many interesting films and even received the world's most prestigious film award "Oscar" in 2009.
Director
Danny Boyle often uses non-standard techniques in the production of his paintings. The result is a very exciting tape with a lot of sharp plot twists. One of the latest projects of the director is the film “Trans”, reviews ofwhich were ambiguous, but the project turned out to be quite successful. Many factors influenced this, and one of the main ones is the plot.
Storyline
The plot of the film “Trans” begins to develop at a very prestigious auction, where we althy people come to buy rare works of art. The lots are valued at millions of dollars, so it is natural that this attracts the attention of bandits. An organized crime group is trying to steal the most expensive painting, worth 27 million dollars, and the bandits succeed, since one of the auction employees is a share. However, things don't go as planned.
An employee gets a serious head injury and forgets where he hid the painting. The other members of the crime try to force him to remember, but this proves to be useless, and they decide to seek help from a hypnosis master.
At a hypnosis session conducted by a girl named Lisa, the main character still does not suspect anything. He sincerely believes that he knows where the painting is and wants to find it. However, later it turns out that everything is not at all what it seems. The cycle of events and unexpected memories draws the characters in, and it is no longer clear who is the real culprit in this scheme…
Actors and roles
The film “Trans”, reviews of which often contradict each other, in spite of everything, turned out to be very spectacular and interesting, and this is largely the merit of the actors. All of themThey played very well, the characters turned out to be bright and charismatic. They really want to empathize while watching. So, which actors were chosen for the main roles in the movie “Trans”?
James McAvoy
Scottish actor James McAvoy has a very eventful career. He starred in a large number of successful projects, many of which are known throughout the world. The most significant films in the actor's career were such films as "And in my soul I dance" (2004), "Atonement" (2007), "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014) and "Split" (2016). However, it is worth noting that no matter how good James McAvoy was in previous films, “Trans” is one of his most successful films.
James was born in the Scottish city of Glasgow. He grew up in a fairly we althy family, despite the fact that his parents divorced and spent almost all of his childhood with his grandparents. Before becoming an actor, James was going to join the Navy, but later abandoned this idea. He was fond of music since childhood and even studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and his sister is now in a famous musical group.
The film "Trans", whose actors play quite well, turned out to be successful largely due to the talent of James, who plays the main role. His character is the most difficult, as throughout the film he repeatedly loses his memory and behaves in a completely different way. However, the actor did a very good job, it is interesting to watch him. The character is well developedthanks to confident acting.
Vincent Cassel
The name of the French actor Vincent Cassel is probably known to every person who knows at least a little about cinema. Now he is 50 years old, and already has a huge experience and a large number of successful films. Among the most famous are such tapes as "Hatred" (1995), "Black Swan" (2010), "Crimson Rivers" (2000) and "Ocean's Twelve" (2004).
The real name of the actor is Vincent Crochon. He is removed under a creative pseudonym. It is noteworthy that Vincent at one time received a circus education and was a real master of acrobatics.
In the project “Trans” (film, 2013), the actor plays the antagonist of the main character, the person who is the organizer of a criminal gang. His role is very dark, and you can even say that Vincent plays a villain, which is not usual for his acting career. Nevertheless, the actor coped with the role very well, creating a fairly atmospheric character.
Rosario Dawson
American Rosario Dawson is the least known of the three main characters, but she is probably familiar to most movie lovers, as she has participated in many high-profile projects from famous directors. Among the most famous films with the participation of the actress are such tapes as "Seven Lives" (2008), "Hooked" (2008), "Death Proof" (2007) and "Sin City" (2005).
The actress was born into a poor family. Since childhood, the girl was fond of singing, but later decided to choose cinema. Rosario is raising an adopted daughter, whom she took from an orphanage.
In the film "Trans", Rosario Dawson plays a psychotherapist, a master of hypnosis, to whom the main character gets an appointment. Subsequently, it turns out that the significance of this character in the robbery is much greater than the participants themselves assumed. The actress looks very good in her role and makes the audience really empathize with the character.
Reviews and criticism
The film "Trans", reviews of which are both positive and negative, was not very expensive, but the quality of the tape was made at the highest level. In many ways, this was facilitated by the directorial talent of Danny Boyle, but it is worth noting that the special effects in the film are also performed at a decent level, although there are not so many of them.
The film “Trance”, the genre of which can be defined as a thriller, catches you almost from the first seconds and does not let you tear yourself away from the screen for the whole two hours. Many viewers found the script too complicated, even illogical. In fact, there is some truth in this, because at once some of the actions of the heroes defy explanation. However, by the end of the tape, everything falls into place, but in order to fully understand the essence of what is happening, you need to watch very carefully.
Some plot twists happen so unexpectedly that many viewers do not even understand what is happening to the characters now. Is this reality or just a dream? Catchthe border can be really difficult, but for an attentive viewer everything quickly becomes clear.
Many people left comments about the film “Trans” that they did not understand anything at all and they did not like the film at all. This happens quite often, as some viewers are simply used to simple comedies and romantic films, therefore they are not ready to accept something more complex.
If we talk about those who are more open to bold directorial decisions, it is worth noting that such people liked the film. It's really a bit complicated, but if you look carefully, everything will be clear and therefore even more interesting.
In conclusion
In general, “Trans” (film 2013) is a very interesting project. Quite well-known actors took part in it, who created charismatic and lively characters. Definitely recommended for viewing by those who are tired of the banality in the cinema and want to spend time on something more interesting. Among all the films that Danny Boyle has made, "Trance" takes its rightful place.
