A native of the city of Velizh, Smolensk region, was born on March 2, 1975. Real name - Alexey Tagantsev. The future DJ spent his early childhood in this small town, then, however, he moved to Moscow. After the move, the capital became the native musician. Therefore, in some articles you can read erroneous information that the musician is from Moscow.

Education and passion for music

The future musician went to school with an emphasis on learning English. As a schoolboy, he began to get involved in music, and at the same time he discovered his favorite genre - rap.

Thanks largely to the knowledge of the language, he could understand the meaning of foreign songs. And listening to cool tracks with an understanding of what they say is doubly pleasant. Gradually, this hobby leads to the fact that the DJ specially translated the lyrics of English songs into Russian. He was able to draw his classmates into this business. The guys looked up the translation of words in dictionaries, and also asked the meaning of words from teachers.

Club life

Visiting nightclubs in Moscow, Dli did not understand why the music in the establishments is of such poor quality, one might say, low-grade. It was then that Dli began to create his own compositions. DJ performances

The debut performance of the DJ in the capital's clubs took place in 1996. To start a career, it was necessary to come up with a nickname for yourself. The young man began to call himself DJ Dli, meaning the word "long" by this name. Such a pseudonym may have been chosen due to the growth of the guy.

DJ Dli was well aware that the mood of the people in the club would depend on his skills and selection of music, so he always tried to give the public only the best quality.

He perfectly understood the tastes of club visitors, as he had been in this environment for a long time. The purpose of his performances was to satisfy as many people as possible, so that when everyone came to the party, everyone would get what they want.

Dli had his own vision of any party he attended. When he came to the club, he carefully followed the music there, figured out in his head what could be competently combined with what, and most importantly, in what order to play it all so that people would get the most pleasure and want to come back again.

Music preferences

For a long time, Dli could not decide on the style he wanted to play, so he tried many different options. In the end, Dli realizes that he simply cannot live without a bass and a beat.

For Dli, his favorite genres were rhythm and blues and hip-hop, so he mainly played them. However, he did not like to distinguish between new and old school rap. He was of the opinion that it was just music that people liked.

The start of the journey

In the early 00s, Dli began close cooperation with the Yu. G. team. He wrote music for the guys, came up with arrangements, and also helped them improve the sound of songs at the stage of processing. The result of the joint work was a live album of the band called "This is just the beginning".

Considering that he has accumulated enough experience, Dli begins to engage in solo projects. In 2003, DJ Dli was awarded the Funky Street award, he is awarded the title of the best performer of the year. After that, he receives an offer for a contract with the Soyuz label, which he accepts.

Next Dli goes to the London DJ Art Festival as a participant. There he shows all his professionalism and turns turntables for almost a day in a popular place called Ministry of Sound. Long then did his best, as a result he received the title of world champion in the category of rhythm and blues.

This event added popularity and authority to the Russian DJ. He was invited toperformances in the best clubs in Russia and Europe.

It is also worth noting that in those days rhythm and blues was not as popular in Europe and Russia as it is now. Therefore, many fans of the DJ consider him a pioneer of this genre in the world of DJing. It was not in vain that Long performed in this style, he felt that rhythm and blues would soon receive recognition from listeners and the genre would begin to develop.

Sound producer

DJ Dli was most popular as a music producer. He found aspiring singers, rappers and musicians, helped them in creating music and processing it, developing and promoting their work. So, thanks to his production activities, Russian music lovers first heard about the rapper Timati, as well as the groups VIP77 and Banda.

Dli worked fruitfully with Timati for a long time. Thanks to this collaboration, the rapper's debut album called Black Star was born. Few people know, but most of the songs on the album were created by Dli. Also, from his initiative, the track "In the Club" was recorded and released, which later became a hit and glorified both throughout Russia.

Realizing that there is still room for growth in Dli's production activities, he continues to move in this direction. He chooses Legalize as the next artist to collaborate with. Together they record the rapper's official album from start to finish called LIGA MIX.

Sorry,Long was never able to get feedback on the work done with Legalize. The album was released only in 2009, when Dli was no longer in this world.

Accident

Many fans, noticing the disappearance of a talented musician, are wondering what happened to DJ Dli. The following story will clear things up a bit.

After a productive day at work, Dli went to his country house closer to night to rest. However, an accident occurs at the 37th kilometer of the Mozhayskoye Highway. A Mercedes flew out to meet him at breakneck speed, the driver of which, for some unknown reason, taxied into the oncoming lane. The accident in which DJ Dli crashed happened, what is called head-to-head. The doctors who arrived at the scene could not do anything. So on July 12, 2009, a talented musician passed away at the age of 34.

Trace in history

Despite his early death, Dli left behind several compositions that put his name on the list of the most talented Russian DJs and musicians.
