Andrei Andreevich Fayt - theater actor, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, people's "villain" of Soviet cinema. He has many popular films on his account, including "The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors", "Diamond Hand", "The Tale of How Tsar Peter the Arap Married". He is an incredible workaholic - Andrei Andreevich worked almost until the last day of his life. He also has a textured appearance, great talent and a very difficult biography.

History of the Faith family

Andrey Veit was born at the beginning of the last century - in August 1903 - in Nizhny Novgorod. His ancestors were German merchants who immigrated to Russia in 1812. There is an opinion that they fled at the beginning of the 19th century from the Napoleonic War.

Initially, Andrey Andreevich bore the surname Feit, because this is how German names and titles are transformed into Russian speech. However, after a while, when the future actor was fascinated by art, he changed the vowel in his last name and became Andrey Veit.

Andrey Feit's father - Andrey Yulievich Feit - was a doctor. He activelyparticipated in the political life of Russia, as a result of which he was repeatedly arrested. Several times he was exiled to Eastern Siberia. Feit Sr. was the founder of the organization "Group of People's Will", worked in the Committee for Assistance to Exiles and Prisoners on Political Articles.

Andrey Fait's mother, Anna Nikolaevna, was also persecuted by the authorities, because she was her husband's faithful assistant. In addition to Andrey, there was another boy in the family - the brother of the future actor.

Childhood and youth

In 1905 Andrei Andreyevich's father was in another exile. His patients helped the man organize an escape abroad - to France. The wife and children followed the head of the family. At first, the Veit family settled in a Russian colony not far from Paris, little Andryusha went to a lyceum there. For some time they lived in France, but after the First World War they returned to Russia.

At the age of 15, Veit seriously realized that he was attracted by the world of the sublime. He began to attend the Liberal Art Chamber Circle with the rather extravagant name "Ke-Ke-Si". Andrew liked these classes. There he talked with young people who comprehended the basics of painting and theatrical skills, studied music, and were fond of poetry. The young man himself made the first attempts to compose poetry, even released a small collection called "Cascades of Passion", which was sold in a small edition of several dozen copies at a school evening. The Ke-Ke-Si circle periodically organized creative meetings, to which experienced artists were invited to exchange experience with young people. ToIn a word, Sergei Yesenin was present at one of these meetings.

Geek student

Growing up, Andrei Veit entered the Institute of Engineers of the Red Air Fleet. But in fairness, it must be said that the young Andrei Andreevich did not like his studies, and his patience was enough for exactly two courses. Since 1922, Andrey Andreevich Veit began to attend the private studio of Preobrazhenskaya, in parallel with his studies, he passed exams at the State Institute of Cinematography (GIK).

An interesting story is connected with the institute. At that time, the university was located in an ordinary apartment and was in a privileged position. A potential student had the right to come to the exam in the middle of the academic year, and if he successfully passed all the tests, he could easily be enrolled in the course. Exactly such a story happened to Andrey Veit.

The future theater and film actor turned out to be lucky - he got on a course with Lev Kuleshov, who is rightfully considered the founder of Russian cinema to this day. In addition, here, in the GIK, Andrey Andreevich met his future wife, actress Galina Kravchenko. True, their family life lasted only a few years. Later, the young people broke up.

Crawcherfight

Learning from Lev Kuleshov was very exciting. In the maestro's workshop, students developed in many areas - they went in for sports, acting, worked on the plot of game sketches. The principle of teaching Kuleshov was very curious - the students were divided into groups, each of whichconsisted of several actors, director and operator. The team with Andrey Veit included future director Yuri Leontiev and actors Evgeny Chervyakov and Galina Kravchenko. The guys became so friendly that their “gang” was called by those around them only as “Kravcherfight”. It was with them that the tradition of the GIK "skewers" began.

Andrey Fait's film debut was marked by a role in the film "The Golubin Mansion", which was filmed at the film studio "Mezhrabpom-Rus" by film director Vladimir Gardin in 1924. I must say that the novice actor did a very good job with the first task, so he soon received another filming offer from the same Vladimir Gardin, but already in the title role in the film "Gold Reserve". The cinematography of those years was not at all like the one that the modern man in the street knows and imagines. Pictures of the 20s of the last century were filmed without rehearsals, the actors worked in their own costumes. The only exception was shooting in historical films (which is natural). For everyone, it was absolutely normal and familiar situation when the actors took each other's shoes and clothes.

In 1927 Andrey Veit graduated from the State Institute of Cinematography.

Wartime

Andrey Andreevich Fait was a very popular artist. Before the war, he managed to star in many films, including “Swamp Soldiers”, “By Pike”, “High Award”, “Minin and Pozharsky”, “Salavat Yulaev” and others. In addition to filming, Andrey Andreevich served in the theater, and it was the Theater-Studio of the film actor.

In 1941, the Great Patriotic War began, and Andrei Veit were evacuated with the Soyuzdetfilm studio to Stalinabad. The evacuation was not easy for the actor, he had to endure and endure a lot in these terrible years of the war. However, without wasting time, Andrei Veit continued to develop in his profession. The films in which the actor was busy just told about wartime.

Andrey Andreevich worked in the heroic drama "Iron Angel", which was filmed based on the story of Nikolai Bogdanov; played Major Pfuel in the combat film collection "Forest Brothers" and "Death of Batya" by film director Schneider. The actor worked on the role of Uncle Stepan in the film about the partisan children "Teacher Kartashova" by Lev Kuleshov. At the same time, he took part in the filming of the biographical film Lermontov, which tells about the life of the great poet.

In the post-war period, Andrey Andreevich played the fascist Schrenk in Grigory Alexandrov's drama "Meeting on the Elbe". By the way, in this picture, the debut negative role of Lyubov Orlova took place - she was an American intelligence officer.

Children's movie

A special place in the work of Andrey Fayt is occupied by the roles played by him in films intended for a teenage audience. Of course, this is the unforgettable role of the Chief Minister of the Kingdom of Nushrok in the fairy tale film by Alexander Rowe "The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors" - a superbly created image, pure acting work.

By the way, Andrey Andreevich Veit was a man of amazing organization, purposefulness and hardening. Whena fairy tale was being filmed, the actor was under sixty, but this did not prevent him from performing independently all the tricks planned in accordance with the role (for example, riding a horse). Theater and film actor Veit was in excellent physical shape.

A very characteristic feature of Andrey Andreevich on the set was the ability to bring something new, individual to the image of the hero, on whom acting work was carried out. He could argue with the director about the ideas expressed and defend his opinion. So it was, for example, on the set of the movie "Aladdin's Magic Lamp". After long debates and discussions, the image of an evil sorcerer named Magribinets combined the character traits that were offered by both the director Boris Rytsarev and the artist Fait Andrey.

Actor and man

The appearance of the actor Andrey Fait can be described by choosing intricate epithets. However, it is easier and more correct to reduce descriptions to one capacious word - "texture". This man could portray any emotion without uttering a single word - the expression on his face spoke for him.

In the list of his works - not all the roles of the first plan, but this is far from the main thing.
