Stephen Hillenburg is an American animator whose projects have turned the world upside down. One of the most successful works is SpongeBob SquarePants. Biography

Stephen Hillenburg was born on August 21, 1961 in a city called Lawton, Oklahoma (United States of America). As a child, he was not very different from other children and was fond of studying biology.

At 23, the young man was already working as a marine biologist. But a few years later he realized that this was not his at all, and decided to radically change the field of activity. I came to the conclusion that it is worth trying your hand at your favorite thing - animation. A couple of short films by Stephen Hillenburg have pleasantly surprised the critics and made excellent marks at various film festivals.

At one of the cultural events, Steve met Joe Murray, who offered him a job as a director for Rocko's Modern Life. This meeting servedthe beginning for fruitful cooperation and further acquaintances, which made an invaluable contribution to the creation of "SpongeBob".

In the spring of 2017, information spread in the media that Hillenberg had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Since then, Stephen has gone through a creative and life crisis due to the fact that he felt like every day counted.
