Legend 17
One of the best domestic masterpieces of recent years, the 2013 film "Legend No. 17" is an absolutely amazingly told story of the life of Valery Kharlamov, a real legend of Soviet and world hockey of the 70s.
The lead actor Danila Kozlovsky and the creators of the picture managed to brilliantly convey not only the character of this great hockey player, but also the very patriotic spirit of the team, representing the honor of everythingSoviet Union. This tape was filmed in such a way that it seems to the viewer that he is not in the auditorium or in front of the TV screen, but directly among the players of a real, without exaggeration, ice battle being played out between the USSR national team and Canadian NHL professionals.
The picture charges with patriotism, making you proud of your Motherland and the glorious hero athletes who fought for it. A film like "Legend No. 17" is simply necessary for modern Russian society, which is beginning to forget about morality and high ideals.
The rating of the picture according to the popularity of the Internet resource "KinoPoisk" is 7, 98.
Once in Rostov
The main roles in the twenty-four-episode television film "Once Upon a Time in Rostov", released in 2012, were played by actors Vladimir Vdovichenkov, Sergey Zhigunov and Alena Babenko.
This picture tells the story of the criminal activities of the famous Rostov gang of the Tolstopyatov brothers, taking place against the backdrop of dramatic and little-known events in the history of the USSR, when on June 2, 1962, as a result of a decrease in wages with a simultaneous widespread increase in prices, a real riot of locals took place in the city of Novocherkassk residents blocking the railroad and administrative buildings. This protest led to a terrible tragedy - a mass execution of a demonstration of citizens …
It is known that the events of those days were successfully hushed up by the authorities, all witnesses signed a non-disclosure agreement and were silent for decades. Those whodid not agree, received long prison terms…
The rating of the series according to the popularity of the Internet resource "KinoPoisk" is 7, 66.
127 hours
The 2010 film "127 Hours" was based on the autobiographical book by Aron Ralston, who in his youth used to not tell any of his relatives about where he was going once again to please his favorite hobby - rock climbing. One fine day, this habit and bad fate led to the fact that, as a result of an accident, his hand was tightly clamped by a huge boulder in one of the clefts of the Blue John Canyon cave, and Aron himself had no choice but to spend 127 hours of fear in this place. and despair, without water and food, alone and without hope of salvation.
The only consolation for the unfortunate man, who rethought his whole life and values during these hours, was a video diary in which he recorded all the changes in his condition, as well as words of love and farewell to his family and friends. It is noteworthy that the shooting of the film, in which the main role was played by actor James Franco, was carried out directly at the very place where this incident occurred. Also, the creators of the picture exactly recreated all the equipment of Aron Ralston, who was with him on the day of those terrible events.
The rating of the picture according to the popularity of the Internet resource "KinoPoisk" is 7, 66.
Balkan Frontier
The 2019 action drama The Balkan Frontier premiered less than three weeks ago. Thisthe film, in which the main roles were played by such Russian and Serbian actors as Anton Pampushny, Gosha Kutsenko, Milos Bikovich, Milena Radulovic and even the legendary Gojko Mitic, well known to domestic viewers, is dedicated to the tragic events in Kosovo, where the infamous conflict took place in 1999 between Albanians and Yugoslavians.
The film reveals to the audience one more secret page of the activities of one of the special forces of the GRU of Russia, which in those days was tasked with taking control of a strategic object - the Slatina airport in Kosovo - and protecting it from attacks by terrorist brigades before the arrival peacekeeping forces.
According to the audience's opinion, "The Balkan Frontier" is one of the most powerful patriotic Russian films of recent times…

The Man Who Knew Infinity
The creation of the film "The Man Who Knew Infinity" in 2015 was preceded by the memoirs of the famous British mathematician Godfrey Harold Hardy (his role went to actor Jeremy Irons), who considered it an honor to have met the self-taught Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, performed by a well-known the audience for the lead role in the drama "Slumdog Millionaire" by actor Dev Patel.
The picture tells the story of the life and rise to scientific fame of an amazing guy, born and raised in poverty in distant India and who, for the sake of his dream, managed not only to get into the University of Cambridge, but also to impress the entire scientific world of his time with almost one hundred and twenty formulas previously unknown to science.
The Indian Srinivasa Ramanujan, a genius-nugget of the early 20th century, was a true legend of mathematics. He treated numbers and formulas as if they were notes and music. And the filmmakers brilliantly managed to reflect on the screen the full depth and brightness of the personality of this extraordinary person.
