It is strange that Igor Talkov, who left at the age of 35, did not reach this line. Even for this time, the poet was not saved by his lifeline, to which he so appealed: "You hold me, don't let me drown" … The sad statistics are such that the reverse side of talent and fame is death.
Igor is a militant name
Nothing happens by accident. The name Igor goes back to the Old Norse "Ingvar", which means "warlike, truthful." Maybe the name had such an effect on the future poet and singer that he searched for the truth all his short life and fought for it? But by an absurd accident, on that fateful day on October 6, 1991, in the St. Petersburg concert hall "Jubilee", Igor Talkov died not in the heat of the struggle for his noble goals, but because of the banal intersection of someone's personal interests. And the audience who came to the concert, perhaps for the sake of it alone, did not hear their favorite songs: "Russia", "Lifebuoy" and others.
Where are you hurrying?
Thus his friends asked more than once, seeing that he lives andworks at the limit of human capabilities. And he always answered that he was afraid not to be in time. What is this - an accident? Hardly. They say that a person with his sixth sense foresees the future, and even more so a poet. But the paradox of poetry lies in the fact that every creator - whether he lived for 27 years, like Lermontov, or 83 years, like Goethe - manages exactly as much as he is allowed to. And no one ever knows if something even more talented would have come out of this pen than has already been created. Igor Talkov managed to become perhaps the first to tell the truth.
Yes, his "explosive" song "Russia" sounded in 1989, when perestroika was already in full swing, but the "dashing 90s" had not yet begun - the time of subversives of all false (and not only) truths. And then on the “Song of the Year” the words “How could you give yourself to be torn to pieces by vandals” sounded like a shot. And then there were other similar "shots": "Former podesaul", "I'll be back", "Lifebuoy". Talkov found a way to the hearts of millions, he said out loud what others were only thinking about.
It's hard to be a visionary
And it's hard to please everyone. Yes, he did not set himself such a goal. Moreover, he did not even set a goal to change something, he understood that he would not have time. Yes, and not under force this one or even many. Therefore, he sang that he would certainly return, “even after a hundred centuries, to the country of not fools, but geniuses” … In the meantime, he was counting only on his “lifeline” - on his conscience and high destiny. And he hurried, hurried, wrote many poems,recorded new songs, toured all over the country, gathering huge halls, acted in films ("Tsar Ivan the Terrible", "Beyond the last line"). In the action-packed film "Hunting for a Pimp", Talkov's songs were heard: "Summer Rain", "Lifebuoy". The chords barely began to sound and captured the viewer to the point that the plot of the action was forgotten.
Lifebuoy didn't save
October 6, 1991, during a backstage concert, Igor Talkov was shot. Who fired the shot is still unanswered. The case has been archived. The administrator of Talkov, Valery Shlyafman, accused of negligent murder, is still hiding in Israel. But Igor Talkov lives in the world - Igor Igorevich. He is very similar to his father in appearance, also a musician and singer. But whether it will be a continuation of the one who promised to return, time will tell.
