There he meets a boy named Wilber, who tells Lewis that he is from the future and is a time control officer.

Wilber admits to Lewis that he is not a man from the future, but an ordinary boy. His dad invented two time machines, however one of them was stolen by the same person who took Lewis's memory reader. The heroes go to the future to catch the thief. However, the time machine breaks down and the boys are forced to stay in 2037 for a while to fix it. Here Lewis meets the Robinson family.

However, while traveling back in time with Wilbur, Lewis decides not to change anything, because he has already found the people who became his family - these are the Robinsons.
Another main character of the cartoon is a friend of Lewis - Wilber. During their first meeting, Wilber wants to appear better and cooler than he really is, and therefore says that he is from the future and the time machine is his invention. Cornelius tells Lewis that the thief who took his invention is a former friend of the protagonist named Gub, who has always been jealous of him because of his brilliant inventions. Gub stole an unsuccessful project from Cornelius, which is out of order and is capable of destroying everything around.
To neutralize him, Lewis travels to the past, he saves Lip from death, as this invention almost kills him. Also, the main character decides to help Lip and slightly changes his past, which made his future much better. Cornelius convinced Lewis that he must participate in the exhibition, because it will change his life. Lewis listened to him and successfully demonstrated his invention. There, the main character was noticed by the scientist Bud Robinson, who, together with his wife, decided to adopt the boy and gave him the nickname Cornelius.
