The Regional Philharmonic of Kaliningrad is a concert hall for various musical events. Famous Russian and foreign performers perform there: singers, violinists, organists and pianists. Often it is here that concerts of orchestral music are held for everyone. And in recent years, the Philharmonic has become a concert venue for major international festivals.
History
The Kaliningrad Philharmonic was established in one of the oldest buildings in the city, which was formerly the German Königsberg. The Catholic Church was built in Germany in 1907, in the Neo-Gothic style. The building is made of red brick, symmetrical in composition, has a high tower with pediments. An organ was located in the church, and in the prewar period it was planned to train young organists. After the war, the building was not used for many years, it began to collapse. Recovery took place only in the late 70s. In 1980, a new philharmonic was opened. Since the acoustics of the hall was originally intended for the performance of organ music, a couple of years later the building wasorgan installed. The instrument was brought from the Czech Republic, its distinctive features are 3600 pipes, 44 registers.
With the support of the Ministry of Culture of the region, the Philharmonic holds the music festival "Amber Necklace", which invites various groups from Germany, Poland, Lithuania and other countries. More than once, the concert hall has become a venue for an organ competition.
Description
The Philharmonic of Kaliningrad was named after the famous Soviet conductor and composer E. F. Svetlanov. The hall has a capacity of 400 visitors. This is a favorite place not only for Kaliningraders, but also for guests of the city. Thanks to excellent acoustics, the sound quality does not change depending on the occupied place. And the two-level stage allows viewers to see all the action.
In order to promote the art of music, the Philharmonic holds themed evenings and lectures. For children with performing talent and skills, there is an opportunity to perform on stage as part of the ABC of Inspiration program. The educational activity of the organization also consists in holding special events for students, the implementation of concerts-performances for entire families on stage with the participation of gifted musicians of the city.
Events
With the participation of Philharmonic musicians, outings are also organized in other cities of Russia, and especially often in the settlements of the Kaliningrad region. Children get the opportunity to visit thematic performances, as well as show their skills in music altools. For an older audience, lectures and concert performances are organized, for pensioners and veterans there is an opportunity to attend a charity concert dedicated to a particular holiday for free or at reduced prices.
During the period when the Philharmonic musicians themselves go on tour, tours from other countries and cities come to the city. Due to the fact that Kaliningrad is very close to Europe, performances by well-known foreign bands often take place here.
