"Ravenswood": the actors of the underrated spin-off

Interestingly, the name of the series can be translated from English as "Crow Tree" or "Crow Village" (which is much more harmonious). To date, only the first season has been fully filmed, which to some extent continues the tradition of such a popular show as The Vampire Diaries. Of course, there have been attempts to branch out from the main plot before, but the most successful ones were The Diaries.

What is the picture about?

In the first season of the series "Ravenswood" the actors obviously do not play out emotionally. However, you should not be so negative about the project. The teaser for the series promised a lot of mysticism and a tense atmosphere. Remember at least the night road, a lone crow on a branch and a gun, forgotten by someone in a desk drawer.

A story in one season

Ten episodes - a lot or a little for the first season? Since we are talking about a spin-off, the cast is much more important in the Ravenswood project. In the serial film "Ravenswood" the story tells about five heroes who live in the same small town. Their destinies are intertwined in a single chain of events that begins with the ancient anddeadly curse. If they are to survive, they must unravel the mysteries of the past.

The action takes place in a fictional city located in the state of Pennsylvania. From the perspective of someone who hasn't watched the original series, the Ravenswood spin-off shows the actors very much imitating characters from another similar movie, Haven. Mystery and mystery usually attract King fans, but this story does not have them.

Who did the best role

The actors present the Ravenswood series in different ways, but not stereotyped, as some reviewers believe, but rather voluminous when viewed through the prism of the spin-off genre.

Subjectively the best actor/singer in the cast is Tyler Blackburn, who did an excellent job as Caleb Rivers. Of all the others, it is the most individual and profound. Already from the first episode, Caleb attracts attention as a seeker of truth, which can shed light on some family secrets. Although there are plenty of them on the show without the Rivers family.

Without deciding on the main mover-character, let's assume that this is Miranda Collins - in "Ravenswood" she is played by Nicole Anderson. Of all the other actors and actresses, she is remembered for her most logical behavior in certain situations.

Cast

Maybe not up to the best examples of the genre series "Ravenswood", the actors nevertheless played well. It is not for nothing that such a successful project as The X-Files is noted among similar shows. Perhaps theysimilar, but, unlike the stars of "secrets", these actors are practically unknown, even those that "open" the series have a little more than a dozen films in their filmography.

The central character of the whole story, Caleb, who practically threatens anyone who does not heed the wishes and rights of his friends, clearly deserves respect. Of course, when describing the series, the author is guided only by what is directly happening on the screen, and therefore there is no comparison with the original ("Pretty Little Liars") and cannot be.

In the series "Ravenswood" the actors were not selected at the request of the fans. This was done with a multi-part story about a single Michaels family from The Diaries.

What is the achievement of the series?

If you look closely at the photos presented in the article, you will understand that in the film "Ravenswood" the actors and the roles played by them look organic. Replace someone - and serial show will lose a certain charm. As the article is written, you are convinced that the work on the selection of actors was carried out in good faith. If the original is reminiscent of an old youth thriller about teenagers who are trying to hide a crime, then the spin-off is The Woman in Black, or, well, Final Destination. Although the theme of the city that lets guests in and does not want to let go is not new, however, we must pay tribute - Ravenswood is done at the level.

Spin-off as it is

Having discussed the actors, as far as the ten episodes of the season allow, let's move on to the reason for creating this article. Too muchtelevision projects resort to the technique of creating branched plots. The first such attempt was the creation of a spin-off about the vampire hunter Buffy. There may have been others.

What is the failure or success of the spin? Initially, what will attract a fan of the original series is a memorable character who has been featured as both a main character and an additional one at the same time. Ravenswood took inappropriate characters that weren't described in much detail in The Liars, and now there are six of them. Hence the low rating, and the closure of the second season.

Perhaps if at least one of the liars entered Ravenswood, the spin would be in a much more advantageous position. But, as they say, the creators know better. The series is worth watching - this is certainly a project worthy of attention.

One thing is certain - the continuation of the creation of spins in the future.
