The artist was born in May 1931 in Kyiv, Ukraine. His father was a military engineer, his mother was a trade worker. Misha was not the only child in the family - he had a younger brother, Vsevolod.

When the boy was only ten years old, the Great Patriotic War began, and the Brusilovsky family was urgently evacuated to the South Urals, to the small town of Troitsk. The family of the future artist returned to Kyiv immediately after his liberation from the occupation.

Life during the war

Brusilovsky's father died at the front, while the boy with hisbrother lived in Troitsk in the house of his own aunt. My father's sister was a doctor - she was also mobilized. The future artist was greatly impressed by the trip in the sanitary train. Here, the boy helped medical workers care for the wounded. During long stops at the stations, Brusilovsky studied the nearby villages, got acquainted with the locals and exchanged s alt for food with them.

Return to the Motherland happened in 1943. Hungry times forced the teenager to earn extra money on the street - together with other boys, he shined shoes on the station square. Unfortunately, most of the proceeds should have been given to local crime bosses. One of them was called "Cat". One day, on the eve of the boss's birthday, Brusilovsky drew his rub with ordinary colored pencils. He appreciated the boy's talent - thanks to him, Brusilovsky entered a boarding school for gifted children, which became his first place of study.

Exactly one year later, Brusilovsky Misha Shayevich changed the direction of his studies, and moved to the art school. Shevchenko - this organization was attached to the Kiev Art Institute. It was not possible to enter the latter - persecution on a national basis did their job.

He became a professional artist after graduating from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Repin in St. Petersburg. Brusilovsky studied at the Faculty of Graphics. The distribution system operating at that time sent Brusilovsky to the capital of the Urals, the city of Sverdlovsk (currently -Yekaterinburg).

The difficult fate of a boy who survived the war ended at the age of 85 - the artist died of cancer on November 3, 2016. The administration of Yekaterinburg is soon planning to open a museum named after Mikhail Brusilovsky to perpetuate his memory for many years to come.

However, the artists got their way, and the painting was exhibited in Moscow. However, even here the chairman of the Council of Painters did not give up: he appeared at the exhibition and made a terrible noise. Then the organizers placed a sentry next to the canvas, who was instructed to drive away a particularly impressionable audience.
