Zhukovsky was born into a noble family, but soon this title was taken away, since the father of Stanislav Yulianovich participated in the anti-Russian uprising of 1863. For this, he was exiled to Siberia for several years along with his two brothers. After returning from exile, Julian Zhukovsky became withdrawn and gloomy. The upbringing of the children fell on the shoulders of his wife, Mary. They had to rent their former estate.
Training
From childhood, mother instilled in childrenlove for music, drawing. The most capable was Stanislav. The father wanted his son to devote more time to the exact sciences. Having received enough knowledge at home, the young man went to Warsaw, where he studied at the classical Lagovsky gymnasium. Of particular importance in the development of the artist was the Bialystok Real School, where he soon transferred. Here he was lucky to study with the talented landscape painter S. N. Yuzhanin. He noticed the talent of the young Zhukovsky and advised him to enter the Moscow School of Painting, where he could best learn landscape skills. The father was categorically against such a choice of Stanislav, so the young man spent all the preparation for the entrance exams in secret.
Never having received his father's permission, seventeen-year-old Zhukovsky arbitrarily leaves for Moscow. For many years, the father could not understand and accept the choice of his son, but saw him when Stanislav became popular. The formation of the artist at the school was influenced by such remarkable masters as Vasily Polenov, Sergei Korovin, Abram Arkhipov, Leonid Pasternak.
