In the musical and near-musical world, the names of composers alone evoke delight, respect and even envy. Others - skepticism, neglect and, even worse, indifference. The name of the heroine of this article, first of all, causes a happy smile on the faces of her listeners. Those who are lucky enough to hear her work, as a rule, begin to adore her work.

Childhood and youth

Russian musician Tatyana Sergeeva was born in Moscow on November 28, 1951. Her parents were never musicians, but in the Sergeyevs' house there was an old grandma's piano, to which the future Member of the Union of Composers and Honored Artist of Russia was drawn with terrible force.

Seeing such a desire of their daughter, the parents soon gave her the Dunaevsky Children's Music School, located very close to their home, and when Tatyana was seven years old, the doors of the Central Music School opened before her, which is a special school at the conservatory.

Already while studying at the Children's Music School, Tatyana Sergeeva showed a talent for musical composition, and by the time she started studying at the Central Music School, she could already improvise melodies that seemed to appear out of nowhere, and unlike any other music that could be heard by a child at the time.

When Tatyana became a schoolgirl, a passion for drawing was added to her passion for music. Her oil paintings took on a style of their own, which she herself called "forced primitivism." Both in music and in painting, Tatiana also found herself outside of all schools. Her favorite drawing, representing the work of Tatyana Sergeeva from her school period, was called "Cowboys" - against the background of bloody burgundy, a bar counter and characteristic profiles of men in cowboy hats were scratched. In the foreground was a sexy and provocative lady with her hips sticking out.

The musical writing of the girl at the same time, literally, gushed. At that time, she had already begun quite serious and systematic studies in composition, and she wrote easily, quickly, violently and a lot, in much the same way as many teenagers, having reached adolescence, pour out their countless poetic experiences on paper.

When Tatyana Sergeeva turned sixteen, the musical writing "fountain" suddenly closed. The girl was very worried. It was as if she had suddenly forgotten how to speak. However, after three years writingmusic began to return to her again.

Music education

By the time her composer's abilities returned to her life, Tatyana just managed to graduate from the Central Music School in 1970, after which she entered one of the leading musical higher educational institutions in Russia and the world - the Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

Becoming his certified graduate with a degree in Piano and Organ, in 1975 Tatiana Sergeeva's musical biography continued at the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied for another four years in the speci alty "Composition".

From 1979 to 1981, Tatyana was an assistant trainee in the composition class at the same conservatory.

Master

Having gone through all the thorns of her musical education, which began even before secondary school, by the time she entered the world of great music, our heroine became a performer outside the existing guidelines and apologists for the modern art world, like Schumann's definition of a musician:

A musician is one who sings naturally and involuntarily, like a bird on a tree branch…

Tatyana Pavlovna Sergeeva is not only an original and unlike any other composer, but also a virtuoso pianist, organist and harpsichordist. There is no difficulty for her to play any of the keyboard instruments for which she masterfully composes transcriptions created by others.music composers.

Tatyana Pavlovna even plays those marches and polonaises by Beethoven, which he himself endowed with such virtuoso luxury, requiring physically unthinkable tricks from the pianist, that for many decades even musicians fanatically devoted to the work of this great composer did not care about them.

Sergeeva also performs Russian music of the 18th-19th centuries, which is generally a rarity in the music world. In her repertoire you can hear both Bach and Handel, and in general everything that you do not even expect to hear from her.

Composer

The work of Tatyana Sergeeva as a composer is also free from any coercion. Her works are guided only by common sense and some line of unshakable truth she herself found, stretching from one of her compositions to another, like the thread of Ariadne from ancient Greek mythology, which for many years has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Tatiana.

She has access to minimalism, expressed in a soft, non-conceptual form. Neo-romantic beauty and neo-expressionism are not alien to her. At the same time, she does not adjoin any style, doing only what she wants today and only because today she has such a mood.

It is impossible to pick up any specific generalizing term for Tatyana Sergeeva's works, none of them will fit. What she does is just music, natural and natural, surprising and living in a kind of time of her own.

Merit

Tatiana Pavlovna - Honored Art Worker of Russia. In 1982, she became a Member of the Union of Composers of Russia, and was also awarded the Beethoven Gold Medal (Germany).

In 1987 Sergeeva was awarded the D. D. Shostakovich Composer Prize, and in 2003 she became a laureate of the S. S. Prokofiev International Composers Competition.

In the biography of Tatyana Sergeeva there are countless records on the radio, and almost all of them are included in the golden fund of the world of music. At the same time, Tatyana Pavlovna is completely devoid of ambition. She cannot refuse if she is asked to play something somewhere. However, when it comes to her own tours in Russia or abroad, where she is also loved and appreciated, they will always be random. She has no producers or directors.

At present, Tatyana Pavlovna has been appointed executive secretary of the Union of Composers of Russia, but this circumstance still does not matter to her. After all, the main thing is music…

Today

Currently Sergeeva is busy with a wide concert activity. She actively tours Russia, the countries of the former USSR, Germany, Italy, the USA, France and everywhere, where they are waiting for her solo performances with piano, organ and harpsichord programs of works of her own composition, as well as the works of her favorite composers.

She doesn't care at all todayresult. Much more interesting is the process itself:

I take this lightly as a result and very seriously as a process. In the summer I get up at dawn, catch the sun, remake, scrape, add, staying in creative ecstasy for a long time. This gives a complete switch, “recharging” and a lot of fun…

Tatiana Pavlovna Sergeeva is still a participant in many international festivals of contemporary music, still painting and writing poetry.
