Any work of classical literature is an example of an artistic style. Its task was expressed in rhyme by Alexander Pushkin - to “encourage” “feelings” with his “lyre”. A characteristic feature of fiction is that its plot is “launched” by the author in a special world, recreated by him with the help of created images. Indeed, the artistic style is that "lyre" that presents the reader's imagination with a special, figurative representation of life.

There are real virtuosos among writers. Admiring critics call their works "poems in prose." So wrote Turgenev and Gogol. They provided an impressive author's arsenal of artistic means for each text of their artistic style. Gogol's description of the Dnieper, presented by him in Terrible Revenge, can serve as an example. The author influences the psyche, emotions through the use of words in a figurative sense (tropes and stylistic figures). Tropes, as you know, include allegories, hyperbole (exaggeration), epithets (representation in the image), litotes (understatement), metaphors (comparison), personifications (judgment about the inanimate as a person). An example of an artistic style, a clear hyperbole, for example, can be seen in the statement that not every bird can fly to the middle of the Dnieper. But then - what artistic power is felt here! Stylistic figures are another type of verbal constructions. This concept includes anaphora and epiphora (reinforcing repetition of words at the beginning and end of the text, respectively), antithesis (opposition), asyndeton and polysyndeton (non-union and polyunion), oxymoron (comparison of the incomparable).

The poet realizes the artistic style through poetry, the playwright - dramas, the writer - prose. At the same time, as mentioned above, the "recreated" world invariably bears the "author's" imprint. After all, we see the plot through the eyes of the author, we imagine his assessment of events, characteristics of people, assumptions, reflections.

Recall another art style that can be described as mixed. It is based on the literary one, but has significant differences. This is an artistic style of speech. Examples of texts for it use shorter phrases, the use of local slang, dialectisms is welcome. It is aimed directly at the listeners and is highly emotional. The Russian classic, our contemporary, Viktor Pelevin brilliantly presents the scene of such a speech on behalf of hischaracter - Chapaev in the scene of a speech before being sent to the front (the novel "Chapaev and Emptiness"). Instead of long speeches about the attitude to the service, Vasily Ivanovich Pelevinsky expressively says: “There is nothing to mess with! … You will experience it yourself! An example of the artistic style is convincing with conversational melody, gesticulation with chopped movements, uniform turns of the torso to the audience to the right and left. His words include both archaisms and jargon, as close as possible to the mind of the workers, they reflect what they want to hear.

Artistic style has another characteristic feature - a concrete-figurative representation. Through it, by illuminating the particular, in reality, signs that have a wide, generic community are illuminated. Based on the principle of similarity, a capacious description of deep social phenomena and processes is given. As an example of the artistic style in the comedy "The Government Inspector", through the images of the mayor, judge, postmaster, trustee of charitable institutions, the characterization of the corruption of the entire provincial government of Russia in the 18th century is presented.
