The way to the stage
The path to the stage for George was predetermined: his mother is a writer, his father is a musician. Born in Moscow in May 1984, he participated in amateur performances from early childhood. First in kindergarten, then at school. He wrote scripts, organized concerts. Having lost his mother early (1990), the boy, along with his older brother, was brought up in the family of his grandparents. Grandfather Grigory Lezhava is a famous scientist, doctor of historical sciences, engaged in ethnographic research. Despite his serious passion for sports (fencing, acrobatics), Georgy Lezhava decided in 2001 to enter the Moscow Art Theater School.
Possessing a photogenic appearance, great dancing and playing the guitar, the young man immediately entered the course of Konstantin Raikin, hitting his first set. Already at the age of 19, after success on the student stage in the play "The Cabal of the Hypocrites", he was invited to the troupe of the Satyricon Theater, where K. Raikin is the artistic director. For two years he performed on stage before the official completion of his studies.at a theater university.
Demand in theater
The theater was founded by Arkady Raikin in 1939 as a theater of miniatures, where the great actor was the main participant in all performances. After his death in 1987, his son Konstantin headed the creative team of the Melpomene temple, which by that time had received the new name "Satyricon". Gradually, it turned into a real drama theater with a classical and satirical repertoire. In 2003, many young actors joined the troupe, among whom was Georgy Lezhava. From the very first days it became clear that the theater and the aspiring artist found each other. The young man was introduced to several performances, including "Country of Love", "Fool", "Ah yes Pushkin …".
Today the actor has a busy schedule, he participates in five productions, two of which are premieres: "The One-Armed Spokane" (M. McDonagh) and "The Man from the Restaurant" (I. Shmelev). If in the second performance he superbly plays along with master K. Raikin, who plays Skorokhodov, portraying several restaurant visitors at once, then in McDonagh's play he has one of the main roles - the porter Mervin, a lonely man living in a fictional world from his own fantasies. Full halls during the performances testify to the success of the work.
TV series
The actor made his debut on the screen in the TV series "Police Says!" in 2011 (not counting the episode in 2010). In one of the episodes called "Pharmacy on duty", he plays a drug addict named Victor, who took hostage a pharmacist andpharmacy security guard. In the course of the scenario, he has to conduct dialogues with the employees of the special department. A tall blue-eyed brunette with a shock of curly hair cannot but arouse the sympathy of the audience: an incomplete higher education, an early departure from the life of his parents, caring for a girlfriend who is in a state of withdrawal. Sweating, fussy, with a guilty look, he seeks, but does not find sympathy from the main "negotiator" Eduard Burov, because on his conscience is not only his own ruined life, but also the life of a girl named Belka.
The first appearance in the series did not go unnoticed, new invitations followed: “Operation Puppeteer”, “Margarita Nazarova”, “Sklifosovsky”. In the film about Lyudmila Gurchenko, he plays the beloved Russian actor Igor Kvasha (2015). Despite participating in 16 projects, the main roles in the cinema have not yet been played. Georgy Lezhava performs more successfully on the stage of his favorite theatre.
Father of many children
In 2010, at the premiere of a short film at the Cinema House, Georgy Lezhava, whose personal life is widely discussed in the press, met a successful actress and aspiring director Maria Boltneva. A month later, he invited her to his performance, and soon a romantic relationship began between the young people. The couple began to live together in George's apartment, for Maria herself is from Novosibirsk. In November 2011, a young woman gave birth to three charming boys - Plato, Timofey and Andrey. Two kids have the names of their grandfathers: the famous actor Andrey Boltnev and father George - Platon Lezhava. The name of the thirdMaria chose the baby. Even during the pregnancy of a friend, the future father proposed to her, but she preferred independence.
In numerous interviews, Maria explains her step by the fact that it was difficult for two strong personalities to get along together. Georgy Lezhava, who has Georgian roots, has a Caucasian temperament and traditional ideas about the family, where the main breadwinner and head is a man. She doesn’t have enough air in such a framework. Now a young mother with triplets lives in a two-room apartment with a nanny, maintaining a warm relationship with the father of the children and his family. Actor Georgy Lezhava takes an active part in their upbringing and maintenance, refusing any comments on the current situation, which does him honor.
