This energetic and creatively gifted American stand-up comedian has directed, composed and produced more than two dozen films, half of which are some of the finest examples of American comedies of the 2000s. Film director Judd Apatow has repeatedly emphasized that he wants to shoot funny projects that demonstrate relationships between people as they are in real life.
Childhood and youth
Judd Apatow is a well-known director, screenwriter and producer from the USA, was born on December 6, 1967 in New York. His parents are of Jewish origin, his father worked in the construction industry, and his mother in the record company, which was created by Judd's grandfather.
From childhood, Judd really liked comedy films, and actor Steve Martin was his main idol. The boy had an amazing sense of humor and due to this, he could easily establish contact with any person.
WhenJudd Apatow was 12 years old, his parents decided to disperse. The boy lived with his father almost all the time, visiting his mother only on weekends. Parents communicated well with each other, so the family was not completely destroyed. The father normally perceived his son's great interest in comedy. Once during the summer holidays, he even sent Judd to the camp at the local comedy club. It was there that the future filmmaker got acquainted with such a direction as stand-up and clearly realized that in the future he wants to become a comedian.
Early creative stages
Future director Judd Apatow started going to comedy clubs, and when he moved into high school, he was entrusted with hosting an entertainment show on the school radio.
Mom helped her son build connections in the local comedy community. Judd interviewed famous comedians of the day such as Steve Allen, John Candy and Howard Stern and some up-and-coming stars. At the age of 17, Apatow began performing as a stand-up comedian and actively met other comedians.
After graduating from high school, Judd went to Los Angeles, where he entered the university for a screenwriting course. True, he did not finish his studies there, dropping out after two years to devote all his time and energy to career development.
During his studies, Judd Apatow hosted a comedy program on campus and also made up jokes for other comedians. He met today's popular actors Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller.

Then, Judge got a job as an entertainment writer for HBO. A little later, he acted as a director and very successfully, receiving 6 Emmy awards.
