The Theater of Musical Comedy (Ekaterinburg) has existed for over 80 years. Today it offers its audience a varied repertoire: operetta, musical, children's performances, musical comedies, concerts. Wonderful talented actors serve here.

History of the theater

The Academic Theater of Musical Comedy (Yekaterinburg) was founded in 1933. The city leadership decided to create it. It felt that the inhabitants (most of whom were workers) needed another theater, one that was fun and musical. The city of Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg) was the capital of the vast Ural region, which included several districts: Tyumen, Perm, Chelyabinsk and Sverdvsky. Factories were created here at a rapid pace, and the population was constantly arriving. People who worked a lot and hard needed good rest and entertainment. The operetta theater was ideally suited for such a purpose. Young dramatic actor Leonid Lukker was appointed director of the Yekaterinburg Musical Committee.

Troupwas assembled from young artists. The theater chose freedom from clichés as its credo. Directors, artists, choreographers, stage designers from Moscow and St. Petersburg collaborated with the Ekatinburg Musical Comedy. Soloists were engaged from the Leningrad Theater of Musical Comedy. Some artists stayed in Yekaterinburg for permanent residence.

At that time, the theater did not have its own permanent troupe, guest actors and traveling groups performed here.

The first performance of the new theater was an operetta called ''Rose Marie''. It was written by American authors R. Friml and G. Stotgardt. It was first staged on Broadway in 1924. The premiere of the operetta "Rose-Marie" in Sverdlovsk took place on July 8, 1933. It is this date that is considered to be the birthday of the Musical Comedy Theater.

The year 2013 is an anniversary year for the theatre. He is 80 years old. All these years it flourished, evolved and delighted the public. The Yekaterinburg musical comedy can be called a laboratory theatre, since original performances are born here, the likes of which are unique.

Ekaterinburg is proud of its music committee. The Musical Comedy Theater is the winner of state prizes and awards, seventeen-time winner of the Golden Mask.

Troup

Ekaterinburg has long been famous for its talents. The Theater of Musical Comedy gathered the most talented actors under its roof. In total, more than 40 soloists serve here. Among them, six were awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of Russia". These are: N. Basargina, N. Chamber, G. Petrova, A. Chamber, V. Smolin, R. Antonova. As well as 18 Honored Artists of Russia. These are: P. Dravlov, L. Ememlyanova, N. Kaplenko, N. Balagina, D. Soloviev, A. Brodsky, M. Shkinev, L. Burlakova and others.

Eccentric ballet

The famous dance group, which repeatedly glorified the city of Yekaterinburg, the Musical Comedy Theater invited to cooperate. "Eccentric Ballet" began his career in 1995. The team is headed by Sergey Smirnov. The "Eccentric Ballet" was born within the walls of the School of Arts. Emerald

This team loves the city of Yekaterinburg very much. The Musical Comedy Theater is the base on which it was created in 1995. The Emerald group consists of six musicians. All of them are real virtuosos. It is difficult to name the genre in which this group works. They successfully combine W. Mozart and blues, songs by E. Presley with folk tunes.

Kids Studio

The Musical Comedy Theater (Yekaterinburg) opened its children's studio in 1990. Here, boys and girls learn acting, choreography, vocals, choral singing. Many graduates of the studio became students of music, theater and choreography schools, institutes and academies in different cities of the country. Some already serve in theaters, act in films. High-class teachers work with children.
