Storyline
The script is built around the life of the Solitano family. The younger member of the clan, former teacher Pat (Bradley Cooper), spent more than eight months in a psychiatric clinic. The betrayal of his wife, with whom he is still in love, brought him to a nervous breakdown. Not wanting to build a new life, he is in search of an opportunity to restore his marital relationship. The protagonist's father (Robert De Niro) prefers games and bets to his own son. Mother (Jackie Weaver) refers to those women who prefer to hide their heads in the sand, not wanting to admit that there are problems in the family.
This lifestyle usually leads to going in circles and exacerbating problems. But Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) intervenes in the plot. The girl managed to movethe death of her husband, dependence on pills and a course of rehabilitation in a medical institution. All this did not prevent her from maintaining an active life position and the desire to act. Further development of events is due to the attempts of the main character to build a new future.

It has been noticed that foreign film awards are very sensitive to films about mentally unhe althy people. The film "My boyfriend is a psycho" was no exception. Reviews of critics about him enthusiastic. Backed up by numerous awards, including an Oscar and the top prize at the Toronto Film Festival.
