Soviet actor Yulian Panich is well known only to the older generation of viewers. However, the life of this outstanding person is by no means exhausted by cinema alone. During his long life, he managed to achieve a lot as a journalist and public figure.

Biography Facts

Yulian Alexandrovich Panich was born in May 1931 in the city of Zinovievsk in Ukraine in the family of a military doctor. Since 1946 he lived in Moscow, where in 1954 he successfully graduated from the Shchukin Theater School. Many outstanding actors and directors graduated from this educational institution, it is considered to be a very good starting position for further professional growth. Yulian Panich began his acting career at the Moscow Pushkin Theatre. And in the early sixties he continued it at Lenkom in Leningrad.

Several times the young actor tried his hand at other theatrical groups. And in parallel with work in the theater, the career of Julian Panich is developing in the status of a film actor and director.

In film and television

In total, Julian Panich played about a dozen roles in the cinema. He himself is very reserved about his achievements in this area. And he considers his unconditional success only the role of Fyodor Morozov from the film "Different Fates". His emigration was provoked by the secret services, who suspected Panich of having links with Zionist organizations. And this in the Soviet Union was the basis for a ban on the profession. But in Israel, Julian Panich did not stay long. From there he moved to the United States, then to Germany. And for permanent residence chooses France.

And Panich begins his career on the radio as a regular host of literary programs. He happened to voice many works on the air that made up the golden fund of Russian literature of the twentieth century. First of all, these are "The Gulag Archipelago" by Alexander Solzhenitsyn, "Soldier Ivan Chonkin" by Vladimir Voinovich, the poem "Moscow-Petushki" by Venedikt Erofeev. As well as works by Vladimir Maksimov, Vasily Grossman and many other authors whose work was not available to readers in the Soviet Union.

A total of 38 literary productions were staged by Panich on the radio. Numerous listeners of Radio Liberty remember Yulian Panich as the author and permanent host of the cultural and analytical program Over the Barriers.
