Biography of Yanka Lucina
The future poet was born on July 6, 1851 (real name - Ivan Neslukhovsky). Janka belonged to the gentry (a privileged stratum of the population) family of Luchivko-Neslukhovsky. In addition, Yankee's father was a fairly successful lawyer. It is for this reason that the future writer lived in a good and favorable environment. Yanka graduated from the Minsk gymnasium and for several years studied at St. Petersburg University at the Faculty of Mathematics. In 1877, Yanka Luchina graduated from SPGTI (St. Petersburg State Institute of Technology) and got a job in Tiflis as the head of the railway workshops. Yanka also visited the Caucasus. It was there that he met the notorious Russian writer Maxim Gorky.
Toward the end of the 1870s, Yanka was paralyzed due to an unfortunate fall. Lucina could walk only thanks to two sticks that served him as a support. Nevertheless, despite his grave condition, the poet continues to lead a familiar lifestyle. So JankaLucina regularly visited the theater and sometimes even went hunting. Because of this, some have suggested that the poet is feigning his illness. After receiving an injury, Janka decided to return to his homeland. In Minsk, he was able to get a position in the technical bureau at the Libavo-Romenskaya railway. Janka Lucina died in 1897. The writer was buried in Minsk, at the Kalvary cemetery.
Yanka Luchina, "Rodnaya Starontsy"
The poem called "Kind of the Elders" is a real Yankee's magnum opus. In it, the author exposes the inhumane mood of that time. Nevertheless, the author does not lose hope, arguing that soon his people will live "good luck - happy happiness." In general, the poem is imbued with a patriotic and unbroken spirit. This work was first published in 1892.
Among other things, many Belarusian creators refer to Yankee's poem. Thus, in 1919 Yakhim Karski used the verse "Dear old people" as an epigraph for his work called "Belarusians". In the same year, Yazep Drazdovich created a graphic composition based on Yanka's poem.
Creativity
Luchina made his debut as a poet in 1886. It was then that in the first issue of the Minsk Listok newspaper his poem was published under the title "Not for the sake of fame or calculation." The work was written in Russian. In it, the author clearly outlined the main goals and objectives of the new newspaper.
After his first publication, Lucina began to conduct quite an active literary activity. Janka began to publish in an almanac called "North-Western Calendar", various Polish magazines. In addition, the Belarusian poet maintained relations with other representatives of the intelligentsia. Thus, Yanka, collecting folklore, collaborated with the rather popular ethnographer Pavel Shein. In addition, Luchina corresponded with a playwright named Mitrofan Dovnar-Zapolsky. In her letters, Yanka modestly calls her works "poetic undertakings".
Works in Belarusian
The first work in Belarusian was written by Yanka Luchina in 1887. It was a poem called "Use the corpse of Dabradzey Starytskaga Belarusian words." Janka wrote this work, being impressed by the performance of the Ukrainian troupe of Mikhail Starytsky. After that, the poet begins to actively create in his native language. For a short period of time, the poems “To Dabradzey the artist Manko”, “Old keeper” and so on come out from the author’s pen. In addition, the Belarusian writer discovers new genres. Thus, the poems "Viyaleta", "Palyaunichya watercolors from Paless", "Andrey", "Ganusya" were born.
Most of Yankee's works are devoted to the realities of peasant life. In his work, the Belarusian poet often combines two popular literary movements of that time: realism and romanticism. Moreover, Janka can rightfully be considered an innovator. His poems areone of the first examples of Belarusian philosophical lyrics.
Among other things, Janka Lucina was involved in translations. Thus, thanks to Janka, the Belarusian reader was able to join the work of such writers as Vladislav Syrokomlya, Ivan Krylov, Adam Asynka and others.
