Drama theater (Krasnodar) began its existence at the beginning of the 20th century. It has a great and worthy history. His repertoire is rich and designed for audiences of all ages.

History

Krasnodar has always been the cultural center of the southern part of Russia. The Drama Theater appeared here in 1909. The building for him was built at the corner of Gogol and Krasnaya streets. It was called at that time the Winter Theater. At first, there was no troupe in the city, and the audience of Krasnodar enjoyed the art of the artists who came on tour exclusively. L. Sobinov and F. Chaliapin also visited here. Their own troupe appeared in Krasnodar in 1920. Such prominent personalities as V. Meyerhold, D. Furmanov and S. Marshak were involved in its creation.

The Drama Theater (Krasnodar) opened its first season with the play "Petty Bourgeois" based on the play by M. Gorky. For 2 months, the troupe, consisting of 40 artists, presented 11 premieres to the public. From 1932 to this day the theater bears the name of Maxim Gorky. In 1973, he received a new building on the October Revolution Square, which was later renamed the Theater Square. The repertoire of the Krasnodar drama consists of plays by classics and contemporary playwrights.

Drama Theater (Krasnodar) hosts famous guests on its stage. Olga Ostroumova and Valentin Gaft performed here. They presented the play "Valya, Valechka, Valyusha" to the Kranodar audience. It is dedicated to the anniversary of the artist.

The performance “Only Women in the Hall” was brought to Krasnodar by theater stars andcinema Tatyana Vasilyeva, Stanislav Sadalsky, Oleg Okulich, Grigory Siyatvinda. This is the story of one office that is preparing for March 8th. Men try to organize a holiday for their female colleagues. They rehearse numbers and congratulations. Cleaning lady gives them advice on how to spend the holiday. This is a musical comedy show. It has a lot of songs and dances.

With the production of "Little Comedies", the Krasnodar Drama Theater hosts Maria Aronova, Mikhail Politseymako and Sergei Shakurov. The performance is based on Chekhov's immortal stories "The Proposal" and "The Bear".
