The future writer almost had to take holy orders, because only in this case he could be admitted to scientific activity. But, to his relief, the ruleswere changed just as he was preparing to complete the procedure. So he did not have to give up the two main hobbies of his life - photography and theater.

Initially, the writer who would later be known as Lewis Carroll tried his hand as an artist. He created his own magazine for sisters and brothers. When he tried to send the work to a major publication, they were simply not accepted. A little later, Dodgson discovered the world of photography, which captivated him with his head. He often took pictures of his friends, among whom was a girl named Alice.

Lewis Carroll did not perform on the stage of the theater, at first he only watched from the sidelines. But when his first fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland" came out, he took an active part in the preparation of the production. And he managed to show himself as a specialist who understands the laws of the theater.

The fairy tale, created for the dean's children, turned out to be incredibly successful. Even Queen Victoria admired her. But only before Alice, Lewis Carroll wrote only works on mathematics. Therefore, new stories soon saw the light of a curious girl who behaved like a real lady in any situation.

Alice in Wonderland

Lewis Carroll never thought of writing the first story. He often walked with the children and invented various fairy tales for them. But one shocked them so much that they persuaded the man to write down the story. Thus the fairy tale about Alice was born.

One sultry afternoon, the girl saw a white rabbit, who was dressed like a real gentleman and was in a hurry somewhere. Alice hurried after him and found herself in Wonderland. itan incredible place existed simultaneously beyond the limits of logic and according to the laws of physics. The country was inhabited by wonderful animals that walked on two legs and spoke courteously. Alice especially became friends with the Cheshire cat.

Alice Through the Looking Glass

This girl wouldn't be herself if she didn't get into the thick of things again. This time, Alice passed through the mirror and found herself in a world that painfully resembled a chessboard. And again, she had to face the dangers and the need to help the good suffering inhabitants of this world. And this time Alice, of course, will not be left alone either.

"Alice Through the Looking Glass" - this is the case when the continuation was no worse than the first part. Fans of the beginning of Alice's adventures were very happy to know that this girl will delight them again with her thoughts and extraordinary stories.

Hunting the Snark

This work is considered a sample of nonsense literature. From the very beginning, Lewis Carroll said that this is a work for children. But in the future, critics noted that the novella was ratherworth reading at an older age.

These tales made the writer and Alice immortal, with whom the main character was written off. Although her fate was not joyful, she will forever remain a little girl in the memory of millions.
