Birthday of Zemfira Ramazanova August 26, 1976. At that moment, the future star and genius of modern Russian rock was born in Ufa. The nationality of Zemfira Ramazanova, whose songs everyone knows, is Russian, but with Tatar roots.
From early childhood, the life of the singer is closely connected with music and sports. In parallel with her studies at the music school, Zemfira is making great strides in the youth basketball team. Thanks to her skill, determination, dexterity and extraordinary mind, prospects in big-time sports open up for her. But the love of music takes over, and Zemfira submits documents to the Ufa School of Arts at the faculty of pop vocals.
Career start
She composes and records her first compositions at the Europe plus Ufa radio studio, where she has been working as a sound engineer since 1996. In less than a year, about 30-40 songs were born. Some of them later became part of the singer's first album.
The path to recognition was thorny. Zemfira tried her hand as a freelance musician, sang in restaurants. Together with like-minded people, she created her own musical group, with which she rehearsed in a small local club.
Album "Zemfira"
From the autumn of 1998 work on the album begins. The recording takes place at the Mosfilm studio with the participation of sound engineer V. Ovchinnikov and members of the Mumiy Troll musical group. The final release was scheduled for May 10th. But since mid-February, the songs “AIDS”, “Rockets” and “Arivederchi” have appeared on the air of radio stations.
Together with the first song, Zemfira is a resounding success. Within six months, the Zemfira musical project has been rapidly developing. Press conferences are arranged, clips are shot, the presentation of the album - all this actively attracts the attention of the public to the young soloist. Her non-trivial view of modern rock, unique style and confidence excited critics, won fans among different age and social strata.
Concert tour
Zemfira began her first concert tour on September 1 of the same year in Moscow. And she graduated on January 4, 2000 in Riga. During this time, the group played concerts throughout Russia and some cities of the near abroad. And even became a headliner at the first Invasion festival.
In 2000, Zemfira and her group won in six different categories: "Performer of the Year", "Brawler of the Year", "Breakthrough of the Year" and "Album of the Year" (OM magazine), "Best Group" and "Best album” (Fuzz Magazine).
Forgive me mylove
Literally after the first album, in December 1999, work on the next begins.
At the same time, as part of the anti-piracy action, a remix for the song "Snow" is being recorded. The single was distributed to visitors of the largest music stores in Moscow as a gift.
The second album includes the song "Don't Let Go", which was previously excluded from the debut album. And the composition "Looking for" sounded as part of the soundtrack to the film by S. Bodrov "Brother 2".
The premiere of the album "Forgive me my love" took place on March 28, 2000. It became the peak of fame in the artist's career in every sense: the most commercially successful; the songs included in the composition remained hits for many more years; the fans created an incredible stir. Zemfira has become a cult personality, the founder of domestic female rock, the owner of an impressive number of prizes and awards. But this did not bring satisfaction, rather, on the contrary, annoyed. In this regard, several scheduled concerts are canceled and there is a pause in the public life of the performer.
However, Zemfira returns in the fall. She participates in a project in memory of Viktor Tsoi, in which the single "Kukushka" is recorded.
A rapidly developing career, exhausting tours, troubles associated with wild popularity lead to the fact that the already taciturn, sharp and independent star disappears from the stage for almost a year. Upon their return, critics and fans note a significant change in the work of the group. Everything has changed - from the composition to the repertoire, including the approach andattitude to work.
Fourteen weeks of silence
Two years later, in 2002, the long-awaited third album was released, which was met with mixed reviews from critics. Some called Zemfira a genius, a precious nugget in the world of modern music. Others felt that she was wasting her creativity in an attempt to create serious music. Nevertheless, there were no indifferent people and opinions unanimously agreed on one thing: Zemfira Ramazanova is undoubtedly talented!
The third album was equally popular and brought impressive awards to the band. April 4 starts a tour in support of the new record. The artist gives a number of concerts, including in her native Ufa. Performs at the next festival "Invasion".
In 2003, "Fourteen Weeks of Silence" won the "Album of the Year" nomination at the "Muz-TV Awards". In the same year, Zemfiru became the winner of the independent Triumph Prize for achievements in literature and art.
Vendetta
The period from 2004 to 2006 was marked by high activity in the work of the star. The results of the work done bring it to a qualitatively new level.
At the MTV RMA ceremony in October 2004, Zemfira and the Queen band performed the famous We are the champions duet. Collaboration with other stars of show business is very fruitful. The performance of the song "Medveditsa" together with I. Lagutenko becomes the most striking performance in the history of the rock festival "Maksidrom".
Bthe same year, cooperation between Ramazanova and R. Litvinova begins, which marked the beginning of a long friendship between the two women. I. Vdovin is involved in the work on the soundtrack for the film "The Goddess: How I Loved". The result of the joint efforts is the song "Love is like an accidental death."
In June 2004, work on the recording of a new album begins. I. Vdovin, Korney, V. Kreimer, O. Pungin and Yu. Tsaler are participating in the project. The process lasted more than six months and on March 1, the official release of the fourth studio album called "Vendetta" took place. Critics enthusiastically greeted the new format of Zemfira's work. The work turned out to be unlike the previous ones, however, recognizable and in the spirit of a rock icon. Publications wrote about the perfection of the compositions, the relevance of the texts, the unsurpassed skill of the performer. It was a success comparable to the sensation that made the debut album. And again the nomination "Album of the Year" was taken.
On May 10, 2006, the band went on a long tour of Russia, near and far abroad, which ended on December 23 with a concert in Moscow. In autumn, the first live album “Zemfira. Live”, which contains 10 tracks from the album “Vendetta”.
This period can definitely be recognized as a new round in the work and life of the singer.
Thank you
In 2007, in an interview, Ramazanova said that the Zemfira group no longer exists. The artist has chosen a solo career and collaborates with various musicians. 2007 began with summing up. CD released in February"Zemfira. DVD", which has absorbed almost all the clips for the entire time of creativity. Included in the collection and clip R. Litvinova with the symbolic title "Results". And "AIDS" and "Traffic" were excluded for different reasons.
Spring starts a new tour called "Deja Vu". The program consists of hits from previous albums in a fresh arrangement. In August, Zemfira gives a charity concert, helping one of the foster families with many children.
A month later, a new studio work comes out. Recorded during the year, the album "Thank you" allows you to take a fresh look at the laconic artist after the restless "Vendetta". The works are very different from each other. The general mood of the compositions is more positive and joyful. Perhaps the author and composer came to harmony with themselves.
The album was released simultaneously with the first issue of Citizen K magazine, for which Zemfira gave a long detailed interview, provided baby pictures and a lot of other interesting information, which is completely atypical for this closed, far from glamorous life of a rock singer.
The tour in support of the new record starts in October. Special autograph sessions were organized, and maxi-singles "10 Boys" went on sale. Remixes for the radio single "Boy", the presentation of which took place together with a video clip for the song "We Break Up" before the release of the fifth album. Later, R. Litvinova's film "The Green Theater in Zemfira" was presented.
2009–2010 marked by high concert activity in the life of the singer. At this time, a collection of b-sides Z-Sides and the second live album Zemfira. Live2"In autumn 2010, the albums "Zemfira", "PMML", "14 weeks of silence" are re-released. And also begins a joint work with R. Litvinova on the film "Rita's Last Tale".
Live in your head
Zemfira worked very long and carefully on her last studio album. Some new songs appeared on the air of radio stations. However, the official release was delayed indefinitely. The artist herself explained this by a large amount of work: the album had to turn out to be very author's. At the same time, the singer said that, most likely, the future disc would be the final one in a series of full-length, large works. And she considers further work in the format of EP.
A tour begins in autumn, in which Zemfira plays along on acoustic guitar and synthesizer, which once again underlines her new approach to work and creativity. The concerts feature compositions from previous albums, as well as the songs "No Chance" and "Money".
After a long break in contacts with the public Zemfira again leaves on tour. And a month later, in February 2013, the sixth album “Live in your head” appears on sale in electronic form. The album's anticipation by fans is eloquently evidenced by the first month's sales revenue. The popularity of Zemfira's work broke all records of domestic performers.
In February 2016, Zemfira goes on a long and final tour with the Little Man concert program. And at the end of the same year, the singer presents the album “Little Man. Live.”
The Uchpochmack
Starting November 5, 2013, songs from the First&last EP by the unknown band The Uchpochmack appear on iTunes every week. Zemfira's name does not appear anywhere. Someday came out first. November 12 - Mistress. November 19 - Lightbulbs. All three tracks quickly gained popularity.
On December 19, at a concert in Luzhniki, the singer presented to the public a mysterious group in full force: herself and her nephews, the twins Arthur and Artem Ramazanov. The group performed two songs out of three.
Private life
Starting from 2009, the singer faced one after another hard trials and irreparable losses. In 2009, Talgat Talkhovich Ramazanov, Zemfira's father, passed away. After 2 years, the older brother, Ramil, drowned. In 2015, Florida Khakievna, the mother of the singer, died. This lingering grief could not but be reflected in the work of the rock vocalist.
The personal life of Zemfira Ramazanova, whose photo is attached, is shrouded in mystery.
From the very beginning of her career, Zemfira is distinguished by secrecy, unwillingness to let strangers into her personal space. Rumors often attributed far-fetched novels to the artist. However, nothing is known for certain about the singer's personal life, except that she is still not married and has no children of her own.
Not so long ago, she said that creativity is a priority for her and she does not plan to have offspring. To date, Zemfira Ramazanova has no children yet.
