Short biography
Konstantin Naumovich Katz, that's what the director's real name sounds like, was born in 1918 at the height of the Civil War.
Back in the late 1930s, while working as an actor in Moscow theaters, Konstantin Naumovich changed his original surname to a “euphonious” pseudonym. There is an opinion that the attitude towards Jews in the USSR was ambiguous, so it was easier to work and live without advertising such origin. For the same reason, actress Faina Ranevskaya hid their real Jewish surnames, and a little later, actors Andrei Mironov and Semyon Farada.
In 1946, Voinov took the position of director at the Moscow Theater. Moscow City Council. In 1957, Konstantin Naumovich became one of the permanent directors of the Mosfilm film studio. Then they becameto be shown on big screens his first film works.

Voinov was enrolled in the staff of Mosfilm thanks to the successful short film Two Lives. Konstantin wrote the script for his debut work on his own, based on Pavel Nilin's story "The Bug".

The plot of the film is dedicated to the fate of Lieutenant Savelyev, who in 1945, due to the cowardice of his comrade, was seriously wounded in the war and lost his sight. Returning home, Savelyev tries to improve his former life, but relations with his wife do not stick, and the same person, through whose fault he became blind, becomes Nikolai's boss at work. The protagonist had the courage to go through a brutal war and stay alive, he finds the strength to cope with difficulties in the post-war period.
Balzaminov's Marriage
