Biography

Harold Allen Ramis was born on 1944-21-11 in America, in the state of Illinois, in Chicago. He began his career as an editor at Playboy. A theater group from Texas was touring in Chicago and he joined in 1969. Then he moved to New York City to perform in a national show. Already in 1976 he was the main performer in the comedy series Second TV. His Hollywood debut came when he started working on Ghostbusters.

He studied at the University of Washington in Missouri, became a doctor of art history. At the university he was a member of the student fraternity. Harold's first wife was namedEmma. She had a daughter named Violet. Emma and Harold got married in 1967. Over time, the couple divorced - in 1984. After 5 years, Harold remarried Erica Mann, she bore him 2 children.

When Harold was interviewed about Groundhog Day, he explained that his working relationship with Bill Murray ended just in the days when the film was being filmed. The fact is that they both had their own view of the essence of this film. So, for example, Bill Murray expressed confidence that the film should have a lot of philosophy, and Harold wanted it to be a comedy.

He first started working with Bill, starting with the film "Reluctant Volunteers". Then they didn't speak for many years. However, Bill arrived before Harold's death and they reconciled.
