Today, in many forums, especially women's, you can often find topics with the question: "What is fashionable to read now?". To be honest, the question is a little strange, it is definitely not easy to answer it. The first thing that comes to mind with the phrase "fashion fiction" is Haruki Murakami, Paulo Coelho and Oksana Robsky. Why? Probably because in the works of the first two authors there is a certain philosophy of life, and Robski's novels give off a fashionable glamour. And what else to read to a girl, if not a life-affirming story about a prostitute who once found her female happiness (P. Coelho "11 minutes"), or a philosophical mysterious novel about how the soul of a sheep moves into the bodies of people (H. Murakami "Hunting for sheep”)?

Of course, the works of these authors are bestsellers, and any girl who considers herself fashionable is simply obliged to show off her erudition by naming the above authors among other favorite writers (if any).

But does it really matter if what you read is actually fashionable or not?

Isn't it more important how much you personally like the work? However, if you created a topic on the forum "Recommend to read a book", then you may really want to read something that does not fitwithin the generally accepted glamorous framework.

If you do not neglect the classics and want to get genuine emotions from the book, we recommend choosing the novel "Walking" by the outstanding Ukrainian writer Panas Mirny. Are you surprised? If you want, you can contrast it with the novel "11 Minutes", because it also tells about the fate of a girl who became a prostitute. However, this work is more tragic. This is a great option to read to a girl who is very sensitive and wants to cry over a book and understand that her life is not so bad.

It's also great to cry over Tatiana de Rosney's book "Sarah's Key". Perhaps many of you have already read it. If not, take note. Moreover, in 2010, the film Her Name Is Sarah was filmed based on this book, with Kristin Scott Thomas in the title role. There are two time layers in the plot of the work: the events of 1942, seen through the eyes of a little Jewish girl Sarah, and the events of today, in which a journalist collecting material for her article suddenly begins to find out the fate of this child. It is worth noting that the events of 1942 described in the book actually took place.

And what to read to a girl who loves mysticism? Perhaps she will be interested in the work of Chuck Palahniuk (by the way, a very fashionable author) "Lullaby". What is it about? Probably about the most ideal way of killing - killing with a word and even with a thought. And what is needed for this? Just say aloud (or mentally) a little nursery rhyme. But the rhymeis it really?

So what to read to a girl who is really interested in quality literature? Many things are possible. It doesn't matter if this book is trendy or not. The main thing is what emotions it evokes and what it teaches. In addition, do not forget that there is such a thing as “PR”, thanks to which even the most mediocre story can become a masterpiece of modern literature, and the author’s stupid and incoherent thoughts can become a new glamorous philosophy.
