Yuzuru Otonashi

Otonashi helps people survive, and for seven days he examines the wounds of the victims and distributes food among them. The protagonist makes a will, leaving his organs to people in need, and dies without waiting for the rescue group.

Once in Purgatory, Yuzuru finds a new meaning in life - to help his friends find peace. He becomes an excellent shooter and comrade, and also falls in love with the Angel Kanade, which no one has tried to understand before. At the end of the Angel Beats anime, Otonashi and Kanade's characters find themselves in the real world and find each other. In the alternate ending, Yuzuru stays in Purgatory and even becomes the new student president. Kanade Tachibana

Yuzuru wants to befriend a girl, but she finds such a relationship impossible in the afterlife, because in the end, the souls leave this place.

Kanade knows how to defend himself in a variety of ways: he creates wings to slow down the fall, changes the trajectory of bullets and weapons, and has superhuman strength. Kanade actively creates clones of himself, but fails to control them due to glitches. The "Front of the Underworld" has to fight against hundreds of aggressive Kanade doubles. In the Angel Beats series, the biography of the characters contains many secrets - so at the end of the anime it becomes clear that in her ordinary life Kaname needed a heart transplant and she received it from Otonashi, who bequeathed his body to those in need. During her lifetime, the girl was very sorry that she could not thank him and received such an opportunity after her death. When Otonashi confessed his love to her, Kanade disappeared from Purgatory and was able to be with him in the real world.

Yuri Nakamura

Yuri ended up in Purgatory when she died at the age of 17. It is possible that this happened during a house robbery, when her younger brother and two sisters were killed. Howthe eldest, Yuri, tried to protect her family, but failed and has since hated God. In Purgatory, the girl creates the organization "Front of the Underworld", where Angel Beats characters who do not want to disappear enter, and becomes its leader. Hideki Hinata

Hideki is one of the founders of the Underworld Front along with Yuri. He helps the juniors in Purgatory, as well as all the new arrivals.
