A three-minute walk from the metro station "Electrozavodskaya" is a beautiful building of the theater and concert hall, which is called "Palace on the Yauza". This is indeed a palace that is already 112 years old.
People's House
This building was built purposefully for the People's House, which received the name "Vvedensky" in connection with its location on the Vvedensky Mountains (Lefortov Hill).
People's houses at the beginning of the last century were built in sufficient quantities and were, in fact, public cultural and educational institutions. The author of the project was Illarion Alexandrovich Ivanov-Shits (1865-1937), a prominent representative and master of the Art Nouveau style. He is the author of projects for such well-known architectural objects as the buildings of the Lenkom Theater, the Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, and many, many other remarkable objects that still exist. "Palace on the Yauza" Ivanov-Shits built in 1903, being already a mature master. He diedhis death and was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery with all honors.
Care for education
People's houses were built on the outskirts, in areas inhabited by working people. The mission of the 10 built temples of art was educational - to introduce the poor to the world of beauty. There were libraries in the People's Houses, and it was planned to create theaters in them.
But these good intentions were realized only in two institutions of this type. The "Palace on the Yauza", then called the People's House, had an excellent theatrical troupe, created by enthusiasts under the leadership of an energetic philanthropist Alexei Bakhrushin. The repertoire of the theater was wonderful: they staged Shakespeare, Ostrovsky, and Ibsen. The people visited the house with pleasure, besides, here, as in any theater, there was an inexpensive tea shop.
Temple of Melpomene
The building was originally low. The "Palace on the Yauza" acquired its current majestic outlines after a grandiose reconstruction carried out in the 40s of the last century. The People's House really turned into a front palace, made in the style of "Stalin's Empire". In appearance, it is very reminiscent of the Bolshoi Theater. The transformed old building faithfully served Muscovites and guests of the capital.
Metamorphoses
Of course, the owners changed in it. So, the Mossovet Theater, which was directed by Yuri Zavadsky, was within its walls from 1947 to 1959. Then the Television Theater became the owner, famous for the fact that the first"Blue Lights" and meetings of KVN teams were held here. The "Palace on the Yauza" (the photo is in the article) became famous for the fact that in its walls in the 80s, when the Palace of Culture "MELZ" was located in it, a hard rock parade accompanying the premiere of S. Solovyov's film "ACCA" was held. But in troubled times of transformation, the Palace on the Yauza would not have survived if it had not rented out its premises.
The Dianetics Center (later the Moscow Church of Scientology) is located within its walls. I still remember the times when various foreign churches gathered tens of thousands of people in stadiums. That is, the building survived until the time of its new revival.
Cultural Center
In 2008, the building was renovated and renamed into the Theater and Concert Hall "Palace on the Yauza", which has all the modern infrastructure of a cultural center. The building is huge and fully corresponds to the purpose of a modern rental site. There are several halls (capacity is different) - one large and three small. The Concert Foyer and the Column Hall are adapted to any repertoire.
Handsome Hall
"Palace on the Yauza" (a diagram of a large hall designed for 814 seats is attached) meets the most stringent requirements. This hall, which provides for the transformation of the stalls and the stage, is able to provide performances of a wide variety of genres.
The stage dimensions are 15x22x10, there is a rotary mechanism, as well as an orchestra pit for 60 musicians. Heredramatic performances, ballet and opera, musicals look great. In addition, various festivals can be held here - music, dance, pop. The famous "Palace on the Yauza" is absolutely suitable for everything. The scheme of the large hall demonstrates the classical form of the theater room. There are absolutely all kinds of spectator seats here - the stalls and the amphitheater, mezzanine and balcony. VIP, benoir, mezzanine and balcony boxes available.
Chamber halls
In addition to this beautiful hall, there are several more small rooms - the Column Hall is designed for 112 seats, the concert two-level foyer - for 213 (it has been functioning as a concert hall since 2011), the Pink, Lilac and Green small halls have 70 seats each. All of these facilities provide for chamber programs such as poetry and creative evenings, children's performances, puppet shows and conferences. And, of course, taking into account the tastes of modernity, these premises are rented out for corporate meetings and presentations. The scheme of the "Palace on the Yauza" implies only the scheme of the large hall.
Chamber halls are traditional - no amphitheaters or mezzanines.
Stage area
Given the huge size of the Palace on the Yauza, since 2014 it has been made an open theater stage capable of hosting any groups for the duration of the repair of their main building. The presence of more than one stage allows you to stage several performances at once.
In this role, the "Palace on the Yauza", the scheme of the hall of which clearly confirms the complianceto its highest standards, has been performing since 2014. Now the Sovremennik Theater has settled in it, the performances of which are constantly held in the Great Hall. The 2015 season was opened with the play "Three Comrades", staged by the chief director of the theater Galina Borisovna Volchek. It so happened that within the walls of the "Palace on the Yauza" this legendary theater celebrated its anniversary - in 2016 "Sovremennik" turns 60 years old.

Performance "The Grenholm Method" at the Theater of Nations. What is the plot about? Are there any restrictions? Who is on stage?
Judging by the number and content of audience reviews, the "Grenholm Method" at the Theater of Nations is a performance worth visiting. They write different things about him, but all the responses invariably relate to what is happening on the stage, contain a reflection on what exactly was shown on it. That is, this production makes the audience think, does not leave them indifferent. This is quite a rarity for the performances offered to the public today

Japan is a mysterious and distinctive country, the essence and traditions of which are very difficult for a European to understand. This is largely due to the fact that until the middle of the 17th century the country was closed to the world. And now, in order to feel the spirit of Japan, to know its essence, you need to turn to art. It expresses the culture and worldview of the people like nowhere else. One of the oldest and almost unchanged art forms that have come down to us is the theater of Japan
