Globus, one of the oldest theaters in Novosibirsk, was founded in 1930. During its history, it changed its name, leaders, expanded its repertoire, moved to a new address. Now he occupies a building made in an unusual architectural style. What is interesting about the Globus Theater (Novosibirsk)?
Best quality
Its full name is Academic Youth Theatre. During its almost century-old history, the institution has formed its own repertoire, which has changed somewhat over the years, acquiring a multi-genre focus as much as possible. Today, different performances are staged in the theater every season. Every year the troupe is replenished with new faces, people from theater institutes. Many residents admit that the Globus Theater (Novosibirsk) is one of the favorite and most visited in the city.
Formation history
Since 1930, when it was founded, the theater has seen productions from more than one director's school. Many eminent cultural figures honed their skills here. At first, the Globus was located in the Lenin House, later given over to the state philharmonic. Since 1984, he received a permanent address - Kamenskaya street, house 1. Featureof the building itself is its unusual shape - the Globe Theater is designed to look like a sailing ship.
The first production was the play “Timoshkin Mine”. Initially, the troupe included actors from the Theater of the Young Spectator, “discharged” from Leningrad. The repertoire of the first season included classical performances, including The Snow Queen, designed for a children's audience. The period of the Patriotic War did not pass by - nicknamed among the townspeople the theater of the young spectator, "Globe" actively toured hospitals to support the morale of the soldiers and those who remained in the rear. At this time, the repertoire was created, which the theater retained in the post-war years.
For half a century, the troupe has been constantly changing. The Globe Theater was the place of work for such directors as Lev Belov and Vladimir Kuzmin. They tried in every possible way to expand the program, experimented a lot, staged "Undergrowth" and "Young Guard". Since the late 60s, Nina Nikulkova, an honored worker of culture, took over the management of the theater. Thanks to her, the theater moved to a new address. Nikulkova personally went to the Ministry to “knock out” the construction of the building.
Closer to global standards
With the advent of a new artistic director, composer Grigory Gobernik, the theater was filled with musical aesthetics, characterized by the fact that each performance was directed as a holiday. Not only the artistic, but also the technical component was developed: there was a restoration, a change in the interior, replacement of seats in the auditorium.
Renaming into the Globe Theater took place in 1993. It was marked by the fact that the program went beyond the Soviet classics. Like a geographic globe representing the entire globe, the theater's repertoire has become vast and diverse. It was based on the dramaturgy of recognized world authors, which the audience had not seen before. Six years later, the youth theater was renamed into an academic one.
Rich theater life
Almost every season, new directors are invited, thus creating generations of directors. The repertoire of the Globe Theater includes performances of various styles - melodramas, comedies of masks, sitcoms, psychological and philosophical plays of an intellectual nature. Particular attention continues to be given to children's productions based primarily on classic fairy tales.
At the end of 2014, the creative troupe of the theater consists of forty-five actors who are constantly involved in the repertoire. To this number should be added directors, directors of the vocal and dance studio. The actors of the Globe Theater are people who have worked on its stage for many years. Over thirteen of them have the title of Honored Artist. Recently, a trainee studio has been formed, which can include graduates of the theater institute. They are included in the category of young theater actors involved in productions.
The creative team participates in Russian festivals and similar events held in other countries. In addition, the Globe Theater oftengoes on tour in various regions of Russia.

Globe Theatre, London
As you know, the theater with the same name exists not only in our country. Unlike the Russian Globus, the English theater was formed much earlier.
The first mention of it occurs in 1599. Then, at the personal expense of the troupe of local lords-artists (William Shakespeare also belonged to it), the London Globe was created. The building was destroyed by fire that broke out in 1613. A year later, the theater was rebuilt. By then Shakespeare had moved to Stratford, but some of his plays were already staged at the Globe. The building has not survived to this day.
New time - new culture
American director Sam Wanamaker was the first to trumpet the need to restore the theater, moreover, with the preservation of the original name. Its construction was included in the so-called "Elizabeth plan", according to which the reconstruction of especially important cultural heritage sites was carried out. In 1997 "Globe"was opened. Since then, and to this day, it hosts a theatrical season, lasting from May to October.
The Globe Theater in London is an incredibly beautiful architectural building. It has a stage that protrudes forward in the form of a circular courtyard. With the help of inclined tiers, it is surrounded by seating places. Following are standing places, tickets for which cost from 5 pounds. The main stage is covered by a roof. In winter, the theater opens the season of excursions, taking tourists from all over the world.
The prototype of the London Globe inspired a number of countries to build a theater identical in appearance. These included the USA, Germany, Italy.
