Touching, dramatic, filled with patriotism - all this can be said about the movie about the Second World War. Russia and other countries of the Soviet Union made many films, the heroes of which showed great courage and adequately survived the terrible times. What films about the Great Patriotic War are definitely worth watching? And what pictures from the military life of the 40s will impress the viewer the most?

Movie about the Second World War: "The dawns here are quiet"

Who doesn't know this touching story about five volunteer girls trying to take on sixteen well-trained German spies? At least in Soviet times, everyone knew the plot of the painting “The Dawns Here Are Quiet” by heart.

Not far from one of the Karelian railway sidings, near the location of the Soviet troops, German saboteurs appear. The railway interchange is guarded by foreman Fedot Vaskov and his detachment of female volunteers.

Vaskov takes five of his best subordinates and advances to meet the saboteurs. But it turns out that there are not two Germans, butsixteen. A girl sent for help dies by an absurd accident in a swamp. And the rest are killed by the number of superior opponents. Fedot Vaskov is losing his wards, who, by and large, still have to live and live. However, the sacrifice was not in vain: the sabotage still manages to be prevented.

This is how a good movie about the Second World War usually ends: it gives at least a drop of hope for a better future and makes us appreciate what we have now.

Only old men go into battle

A movie about the Second World War, included in the golden collection of Soviet cinema, is the drama "Only Old Men Go to Battle", directed by Leonid Bykov.

This time the action is transferred somewhere to the Ukrainian border. Just go fighting for the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR. The main characters of the picture are fighter pilots who daily attack vehicles and strategic targets of the enemy. The squadron chief is Captain Titarenko, an optimist and indefatigable joker. Replenishment of the boys who have just graduated from school arrives to him. And the commander will have to make considerable efforts to educate fighters from them.

The film is filled with light humor, beautiful songs, but, of course, not without dramatic events. There was also a place for a romantic story that ended in a wartime spirit: he and she died almost on the same day.

The action of this tape takes place just in time for the crossing of the Dnieper south of Kyiv. One of the battalions of the 85th regiment is ordered to take a bridgehead with a fight, which will later be used for the offensive. However, when the fighters got involved in the battle, the plans of the command changed dramatically, and the fire artillery was withdrawn to another place. So the soldiers were left alone with the Germans without fire cover and fought to the last, following the order given to them.

Seventeen Moments of Spring

The movie about the Second World War, which has become truly cult, is, of course, the spy film "Seventeen Moments of Spring". The film consists of 12 episodes. Events in it develop measuredly, but this does not make the plot less interesting.

Director Tatyana Lioznova brought together in this project the entire color of Soviet cinema: Vyacheslav Tikhonov and Leonid Bronevoy, Valentin Gaft and Oleg Tabakov, Ekaterina Gradova and Lev Durov, Evgeny Evstigneev and many other talented actors.

The action takes place in Germany. In circles close to Hitler, a "mole" wound up - a Soviet intelligence officer hiding under the name of Max Otto Von Stirlitz. Each time, trying to transfer information to the headquarters of the Russian intelligence troops or to save the captured Soviet intelligence officers, Stirlitz takes a big risk. But his natural cunning and endurance help the Standartenführer get away with it.

Twenty days without war

The talented writer Konstantin Simonov once created a touching script, the hero of which was an ordinary military journalist, Major Vasily Lopatin. In 1975, director Alexei German undertook the implementation of this scenario in cinema. This is how the film "Twenty Days Without War" appeared, in which Yuri Nikulin and Lyudmila Gurchenko played the main roles.

The picture tells about twenty happy vacation days that were allocated to the military journalist Lopatin in the midst of hostilities. Vasily goes to the city of Tashkent, where his friends and acquaintances who are in evacuation live, and where the shooting of a real film is taking place, the script of which was written by Lopatin at the front. The tape is filled with impressive details about the lives of people in the evacuation, who sometimes experienced unthinkable hunger and worked in factories 24 hours a day to provide for the needs of the front.

Brest Fortress

“Brest Fortress” is a creation of the modern director Alexander Kott, released on screens in 2010. It’s easy to guess from the title that the director is trying to highlight the events of June 1941 in his picture, when the Germans moved to the borders of the Soviet Union. The first and most powerful blow fell on the border outposts, one of which was called the Brest Fortress. Trying to defend their post, all the soldiers who were at the outpost died, waiting for reinforcements.

The film starred such famous actors as Pavel Derevyanko, Andrey Merzlikin and Evgeny Tsyganov.

Saboteur

Probably the most exciting films are movies about WWII scouts. Modern Russian television, represented by the Russia-1 TV channel, has shot an amazing adventure film on this subject based on the novel by Anatoly Azolsky. We are talking about the painting "Saboteur".

The main characters of the adventure cycle are Captain K altygin's reconnaissance group, consisting of three fighters. Each of the children has its own story, its own unique character. But together they go on the most difficult tasks and try to act as a whole. The film is one of the best screen works of the actor Vladislav Galkin.

Among all the released documentary works, the projects of the Zvezda TV channel, which specializes in military topics, are considered especially interesting and informative.
