In 1975, director Alexei German undertook the implementation of this scenario in cinema. This is how the film "Twenty Days Without War" appeared, in which Yuri Nikulin and Lyudmila Gurchenko played the main roles.

The picture tells about twenty happy vacation days that were allocated to the military journalist Lopatin in the midst of hostilities. Vasily goes to the city of Tashkent, where his friends and acquaintances who are in evacuation live, and where the shooting of a real film is taking place, the script of which was written by Lopatin at the front. The tape is filled with impressive details about the lives of people in the evacuation, who sometimes experienced unthinkable hunger and worked in factories 24 hours a day to provide for the needs of the front.

Brest Fortress

“Brest Fortress” is a creation of the modern director Alexander Kott, released on screens in 2010. It’s easy to guess from the title that the director is trying to highlight the events of June 1941 in his picture, when the Germans moved to the borders of the Soviet Union. The first and most powerful blow fell on the border outposts, one of which was called the Brest Fortress. Trying to defend their post, all the soldiers who were at the outpost died, waiting for reinforcements.
