Independent Moscow Theatre: repertoire, actors

The independent Moscow theater was born not so long ago, but the public has already managed to recognize and fall in love with it. This is a fairly successful project, as the audience always looks forward to each new premiere of it.

About the theater

The creator of the theater Dmitry Rachkovsky reveals the secret of why his brainchild is so popular. According to him, the reason is that his troupe does not need theater awards, does not aim to win festivals, and also does not attach importance to what theater critics think about their productions. Actors work for the audience and get the appropriate feedback from them.

The first performance presented to the public by the Independent Moscow Theater on November 15, 2003 was a performance based on M. Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita. The role of Woland was then played by Viktor Avilov, known for his numerous films. Olga Kabo shone in the role of Margarita. The performance is still part of the theater's repertoire and has been shown in different countries for more than 700 times, it is a great success with the audience. In total, the troupe has more than twenty differentproductions. The performances of the Moscow Independent Theater are distinguished by magnificent costumes, wonderful music, incendiary dances and non-standard dramaturgy.

Troup

The independent Moscow theater can rightly be called international, as it hosts artists not only from Russia, but also from the former Soviet republics, for example, People's Artist of Latvia Ivars Kalnynsh, popular artist of Estonia Mikael Molchanus, Honored Artist of Ukraine Vladimir Goryansky, Narodnaya artist of Ukraine Olga Sumskaya, Ruslana Pysanka. All of them are not just invited, but are part of the troupe.

More than forty artists, five of them have the title of Honored Artist of Russia and three - People's Artist, make up the Moscow Independent Theatre. The actors who serve here are known to a wide audience for their numerous works in films, serials and on television: Svetlana Permyakova, Anfisa Chekhova, Elena Korikova, Alexander Semchev, Vera Sotnikova, Andrey Fedortsov, Natalya Bochkareva, Olga Kabo, Anatoly Kot, Vladimir Steklov, Evelina Bledans, Natalya Varley, Alexander Pashutin, Lyubov Tolkalina, Maria Golubkina, Dmitry Isaev.

The Independent Moscow Theater offers its audience a diverse repertoire, which includes classical plays, modern ones, as well as children's fairy tales. Includes:

Casanova

The Moscow Independent Theater has been showing the performance "Casanova" since 2006 with constant success. The main role is played by Sergey Glushko - the legendary Tarzan. This is a comedy about the adventures of the famous and best lover in the world - Casanova. He did not miss a single beauty, and women dreamed of intimacy with him. But one day he really fell in love with the beautiful Francesca, who was a famous seductress in Venice. The woman was unable to resist the seducer. But can Casanova give up his usual way of life for the sake of love and from the crowds of beauties thirsty for him?

Grooms

The Moscow Independent Theater included the performance "Grooms" in its repertoire quite recently - in January 2014. This is a comedy based on the play by N. V. Gogol. In the center of the plot, Agafya Tikhonovna is a merchant's daughter of marriageable age, who sits at home all day, is bored and indulges in dreams of her future wife. The aunt is trying to persuade her niece to choose a cloth merchant, but the girl is stubborn and finds a large number of arguments against this candidacy: he is just a merchant and also bearded, and she would like her husband to be a nobleman. Matchmaker Fyokla Ivanovna is looking for a worthy groom for Agafya Tikhonovna, andthanks to her efforts, an experienced sailor, a court adviser, an infantry officer and an executioner come to woo the bride. One of them is looking for a rich dowry in the bride, the other needs her to know French by all means … All four potential suitors gather in Agafya's house to look at her and show themselves. The girl can’t make a choice in any way, which of the suitors to prefer…

Viy

The play "Wii" by the Moscow Independent Theater has been playing for 10 years - since January 2005. The director himself defines the genre of this action as a shocking comedy, since this play has not been staged anywhere else like this. A terrible story that tells about the death of a beautiful girl, Pannochka, in this version has turned into a funny comedy, which is filled with incendiary dances, jokes and texts, the authors of which are famous comedians. In the production of the Moscow Independent Theater, no one dies, but it's so funny that even the best KVN fades away.

The audience loves this performance very much, and after watching it, their mood rises for the whole year ahead. The audience starts laughing at the very beginning of the production and laughs for at least three more days after it ends. Although sometimes it can be scary, because it's still "Viy". This is one of the best performances of the Independent Theatre. But for those who are eager to see the classic version of the play and do not accept any innovations, this version is not recommended for viewing. This is not the "Viy" that everyone is used to. This is an entertaining spectacular show that will leave a lot ofexperience of a lifetime and making everyone laugh their heads off.
