In this article we will talk about one of the characters in the Marvel universe. Havok is a mutant superhero who was part of the X-men. The character is known mainly to fans of comics and cartoons based on comics. On the big screen, like the well-known Wolverine, Cyclops or Magneto, he did not appear.

This character first appeared in the X-men comic series, number 54. It was way back in 1969. But even then the hero received a canonical appearance and character. Havok has always been portrayed as a tall, blonde man with brown eyes, on the side of good.

History

Alexander Summers is the youngest child in the family and the brother of Sott Summers (Cyclops). His father served in the US Air Force as a test pilot. Once he piloted a private jet, in which his family also flew. At that moment, they were attacked by a Shiar ship. There was only one parachute on board. The boys' mother secured it so that both would be saved. So the brothers survived the disaster. However, in the fall, Scott was seriously injured and was sent to an orphanage, and Alex was adopted by the family. Blandingov, who recently lost her own child Toda.

For the first time, Alex's abilities manifested themselves at the moment when he was attacked by the person responsible for the death of Tod. Summers was unable to control his powers and the attacker died. However, at that moment, Alex was under the control of Sinister, so he had no memories of what he had done. He also didn't know about his supernatural powers.

The revealed truth

Like many heroes of Marvel Studios, Havok had no idea about his powers for a long time. During college, one of Alex's teachers was Azmet Abdol, who is also a mutant. He soon realized that there was a psychic connection between him and the young man. They were also united by the similarity of abilities - they both could absorb cosmic radiation. However, Alex, without knowing it, suppressed the forces of Akhmet. Soon the professor escaped from the college, kidnapping several students, among whom was our hero.

The abducted ended up in Akhmet's laboratory. Here, among other things, he managed to block Alex's ability to absorb radiation, thereby depriving the young man of the ability to restrain someone else's power. Only then did the true power of Azmet manifest itself. His incredible powers soon caught the attention of Professor X (Charles Xavier). Soon, the X-Men appeared in the professor's laboratory and defeated him, freeing the prisoners. Then only Alex, after many years of separation, was able to meet his older brother Scott, who studied with Xavier.

X-Men

This team of mutants is one of the most popular creations of the studio"Marvel". Havok, however, was never a permanent member of the team, but occasionally worked alongside the X-Men.

So, being free, Alex decided not to return to the people and stay in the desert, as he had not yet learned to control his abilities. Though he was asked to go to Xavier's mutant school.

But far from civilization, Alex did not find peace. He was found and captured by the Guardian (a robot for capturing mutants), after which the young man ended up in the hands of Larry Trask. It was Trask who gave Alex his code name Havok, and the scientist also came up with a special suit that helped control the level of radiation in the body.

However, soon the X-Men discovered and destroyed Trask's laboratory, and all the prisoners were released. Alex, who has retained his special suit, decides to join the X-Men this time. At school, Xavier Summers was taught to control his powers, which helped him to reach his considerable potential.

Havok and Polaris

While living at Xavier's school, Alexa fell in love with Lorna Dane (another X mutant). Her codename was Polaris. Together they worked with the X-Men, helping them fight the villains, they also participated in preventing the alien invasion of the Znors.

However, neither Alex himself nor his lover were going to connect their whole lives with the team. They wanted a more normal and quiet life. Soon they discovered a common hobby - geophysics. Together they took up the study of this science in the West of America. Soon Polaris and Havok left the team.

Unfulfilled dreams

But living a normal life did not work out, as often happens in Marvel comics. Polaris Havok was attacked by Marauders while exploring. The girl was taken under control by Malice, a mutant with strong mental abilities, and then moved into her body. Alex had to run away, leaving his beloved.

Havok needed help and turned to the X-Men for it. However, by that time the composition of the team had changed. Therefore, Alex first had to convince the mutants of his sincerity, and then argue for a long time about the chosen strategy.

Temporarily, Havok joined the X-Men and worked with them for a while. At the same time, the team was trying to trace the location of the Marauder base. On one of the missions, the mutants managed to face a long-wanted enemy. Alex had to fight Polaris. However, at the time of the battle, Malice lost control over the girl's mind, thereby freeing her. Having achieved his goal of freeing Polaris, Havok once again left the X-men.

Abilities

Now let's talk about the powers that Havok is endowed with (Marvel Comics).

First of all, this is his ability to absorb cosmic energy and process it in his body into plasma, which gives the mutant incredible destructive power. Moreover, the process of absorption continues constantly, so from time to time he just needs to splash out his strength. Havok can also absorb stellar energy, X-rays and gamma radiation.

Alex releases his energy in the form of plasma, which takesthe form of explosions or shots. An object attacked by Havok can disintegrate into atoms, explode or melt. When the mutant's strength is running out, the plasma can only cause a severe headache in the attacked.
