Brief biography of the ballerina

Tatyana Terekhova was born in 1952 in the city of Leningrad. A penchant for dancing appeared from early childhood. In 1970 she graduated from the Choreographic School. A. Vaganova. Elena Shiripina was a teacher and mentor.

After graduating from an educational institution, Tatyana Gennadievna Terekhova was lucky to get into the troupe of the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Leningrad. In 1977 - in Moscow, and in 1984 - in Osaka, she was a laureate of ballet art competitions. These awards gave the dancer even more confidence.

Life on stage

Tatyana Terekhova had a hard time with exercises and tricks for flexibility, but the young ballerina was not afraid of difficulties, she worked together with her mentor on the leading parts. As they say, she "sculpted" herself consistently, gradually expanding her capabilities.

She was recognized as a powerful ballerina of the ballet school of Leningrad academicism. But things were not always smooth sailing.artist's work. For example, the audience was not so interested in her roles in the productions of The Fire Bird and The Fairy of the Ronda Mountains. Apparently, not everything that was to their liking was performed according to all the canons of the ballet.

Performing Devilka ("The Creation of the World"), Tatyana Terekhova showed all the mastery of choreography. The audience remembered her as a mocking, mischievous girl. In 1980, the artist was offered leading roles in Balanchine's ballet and Tudor's opuses. Thanks to her precision and clarity of performance, the dancer performed the roles unmistakably and with meaning. She easily conveys the story to the audience through professional movements.

Ballerina repertoire

There was a short break in Terekhova's work. For more than 10 months she was not seen on the stage of the theater. Only ballet dancers can understand how difficult it is to come back again. It was not easy for Tatyana to perform the parts again. Thanks to her perseverance and diligence, she plays the role of Kitri. Even the most arrogant critics were crazy about the performance: there was nothing to complain about.

In the period 1995-1996, the ballerina replenishes her luggage with parties from the performances of "La Bayadère", "Sleeping Beauty", "Don Quixote". Other dancers would have removed complex movements from productions or replaced them with simpler ones, since the gap was rather big. But Tatyana Terekhova overcame all the difficulties. The ballerina is devoted to her teachers, because it was they who brought up perseverance in her.
